I’ve been testing the Xebec Tri Screen 2 for the past few months. This is an innovative new technology and this is my honest review!
As a newbie working from home full time, I was super excited to test out the Xebec Tri Screen 2!
I only use my laptop for online work, and now that I’ve transitioned to full-time remote work, I understand why people enjoy using multiple screens.
Sometimes you’re working on a lot at once, and it’s much better to have multiple screens than swiping between tabs and losing your place.
However, my current one-bedroom apartment in Sydney doesn’t have much room for a spacious home office with a desk! My space is very limited, so I found the Xebec Tri Screen 2 useful for expanding my home work environment.
I can use it right on my kitchen table. It gives me two extra screens without taking up desktop space! But it does have some drawbacks, especially when I fly around Australia.
To help potential customers fully understand the Xebec Tri Screen 2, I’ve written a comprehensive review of the product.
This is my personal experience and I hope it helps you, but please take it with a grain of salt because everyone’s experience may be different!

What is Xebec Tri Screen 2?
this Xebec Tri Screen 2 is a laptop accessory that allows you to add 2 additional screens to your workstation.
It’s portable, easy to use, and attaches to the back of any laptop.
So if you’re used to working with multiple screens, this accessory will give you the benefits of 3 screens no matter where you are.
The following is a detailed introduction to all aspects of Xebec Tri Screen 2. From design, to portability, to display quality, these are my personal thoughts on this unique and innovative product.

Design – 8/10
Xebec Tri Screen 2 is simple, stylish and modern. It’s all black and easily attaches to any laptop without adhesives.
You just pull open the adjustable sides and slide it over your laptop. It’s convenient, looks professional, and you can adjust the screen angle to suit you.
There is a kickstand that unfolds from the back which is a must for me. I have a Macbook Air and it’s very light, so the Xebec would crush the screen without the need for a stand to support it.
I was also impressed with the packaging when the product arrived!
The screen and all its components are stored neatly in a beautiful box that’s covered in colorful, travel-inspired designs. I honestly can’t even throw the box away because I love it so much!

Easy to use – 7/10
For ease of use, I gave the Xebec Tri Screen 2 a 7/10 as I found it quite confusing to set up, but once you get started it’s very easy.
I’m not a very tech-savvy person and I was a little overwhelmed by the sheer number of cables and adapters that come with the screen. I also had to download some screen extension software and adjust the settings on my laptop.
Tutorials on Ruibike website Very clear and helpful, but I still had to rewatch them multiple times to understand it all.
These tutorials are also geared toward more modern laptops, and I have an older model, so some of the steps don’t apply to my laptop (2017, 13-inch Macbook Air – 2024 is pretty old, but I still like it It will be used until you die).
I had to contact customer service via email to get setup recommendations for my laptop. But they were very helpful and after a few days of back and forth I was able to get everything working properly.
Customer service also helped me realize that the best way to set up the Xebec was with 2 triple screen adapters. My box only came with one, so I had to order another one to use both screens.
But everything went smoothly and it only took me a few weeks to get the whole thing up and running! Now that I have everything figured out, every time I want to use the Xebec Tri Screen 2, it only takes a few minutes to set up.
For someone experienced in technology, this might be a piece of cake! But to me, this setup is a bit confusing.

Portability – 6/10
The Xebec Tri Screen 2 delivers on its promise – it’s extremely portable and easy to move around.
You should have no problem folding it up, throwing it into your backpack, and heading out happily.
I did find it heavier and bulkier than I expected. The screen itself is thin, but when you fold it all down, the entire thing is 2.5 centimeters (1.77 inches) thick at its widest point. It also weighs 2 pounds, which doesn’t sound like a lot, but when you’re flying with carry-on baggage that weighs only 7kg, every pound counts!
As someone who frequently flies domestically for work, I usually only bring one carry-on bag that cannot exceed the weight limit, otherwise I have to pay at least $60 AUD.
So I found myself leaving the Xebec at home simply because my luggage was already too full and I’d rather save the £2 to buy more essential items such as clothes, camera gear and toiletries.
Additionally, when traveling in airports, where space is often limited, I find it easiest to work with my laptop on my lap. Or I’m working on a plane with my laptop on the tray table.
Because I have to use a stand to keep my laptop screen upright, I find it difficult to use the Xebec unless I’m sitting at a suitable table with plenty of space.
I don’t use it on airplanes because the tray table is too small and the two screens would impede my neighbor’s space. (Obviously I was flying economy – you don’t have these issues with first class!)
So I like using the Xebec at home, but I wouldn’t take it with me on air travel as I find it too bulky and requires a wide, flat surface.
If you’re traveling primarily by land, your luggage won’t be subject to weight restrictions, and it’ll be easier to find a desk to work from. In this case, you should have no problem taking the Xebec Tri Screen 2 with you.
It’s also important to note that when the laptop is powering two additional screens, the battery will drain quickly. Therefore, your laptop must be connected to a charger or it may drain faster than you expect!

Display quality – 9/10
As I mentioned, I use the Xebec Tri Screen 2 a lot when I’m working on my kitchen table at home.
I think the display quality is amazing! Everything looks basically the same as my home screen, which is impressive.
Since the screen is slightly smaller than the main screen, everything displayed is also slightly smaller. Everything maintains proportions, but sometimes the text looks a little too small for my liking.
But that’s not a problem because I can just zoom in and see everything works fine. The colors are always vibrant too.
Perhaps people who often engage in photography or videography may feel differently. But as a writer who doesn’t focus on imagery, I have no complaints!
Port – 9/10
Both screens on the Xebec Tri Screen 2 have 3 ports each. Again, I’m not very tech savvy, so I don’t really understand the different ports and connectivity options that come with the screen.
But the website says the Xebec connects to all laptops, and I believe them because my box came with a lot of different wires and cables!
If it could easily connect to every laptop then I’d say the port is a 9/10 (not sure my technical knowledge qualifies me to give it a 10/10!)

Accessories – 7/10
Similar to the last point, I don’t know enough about laptop gear to understand what all the different cables are for. I fiddled with all of this in the beginning but couldn’t figure out the best way to connect the screen.
That’s when I chatted with customer service and they recommended triple screen adapter. This is just a large adapter that connects your screen directly to a USB port on your laptop.
When my Xebec Tri Screen 2 arrived it came with 1 Tri Screen adapter and about 7 other cables. So I ordered a second triple screen adapter and didn’t use the other cables at all.
I’d say the abundance of cables is a bit confusing for the average person, and the inclusion of 2 triple screen adapters in the Xebec seems easier.
Now that I have and use 2 adapters, I have all these extra wires that I have no real use for.
Again, I’m no tech expert, so I’m sure Xebec has their reasons for including all these cables.
Maybe it would be easier to enter the type of laptop you have during the ordering process? So when it arrives, it only has the specific cables you need, rather than a ton of potentially unused cables?
This is just my opinion! True technology enthusiasts may feel differently.

Value – 7/10
I would give the Xebec Tri Screen 2 a 7/10 overall value. It works really well as an accessory for my home office! I love the benefit of having 2 extra screens, it’s a really cool piece of modern technology.
So I think it’s a great product, but I do think it’s a little pricey! The Xebec Tri Screen 2 sells for about $500. If you need any triple screen adapters, they are $50 each.
If you travel a lot and want to work from home with multiple screens that you can take with you, this is a good investment.
Plus, you can throw it on any laptop! So you don’t need to upgrade or replace any laptop you already use.
But as far as laptop accessories go, they are expensive. If you’re like me and you fly most of your travels, I don’t find it as convenient as I’d like.

Xebec Tri-Screen 2 Overall Review – 7/10
Therefore, my overall rating for the Xebec Tri Screen 2 is 7 out of 10! Here’s a quick review of my main pros and cons:
advantage
- Once set up, it’s easy to use
- great customer service
- Excellent screen quality
negative factors
- bulky
- expensive
- It’s confusing to set up (for the average person)
As someone who hasn’t had multiple screens to work with before, I love the productivity benefits of having two extra screens. Although the setup process was overwhelming for me, I found it really easy to use since I had all the kinks worked out.
Plus, the customer service team is great. They answered all my questions and helped make sure I got the correct setup.
So I like using the Xebec Tri Screen 2 at home. But I don’t like using it for air travel, especially when you have limited carry-on space and limited space to work on the road.
However, I think it would be great if you choose to travel overland instead of flying. If you have an RV or camper, or you move from one office to another, you can literally take it with you and install it anywhere. Keep in mind that you need a constant power source as it will drain your laptop’s battery.
So for air travel I would give it 6/10 and for land travel I would give it 8/10. Unfortunately, I tend to do more air travel. But it’s useful around the house, and I’m glad I can use it for those larger projects where one screen just isn’t enough.
