Walt Disney World adds another solo line

Walt Disney World adds another solo line

Walt Disney World in EPCO.

There were long lines for singles at the original Disney’s Ratatouille dark ride at Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris. But this is the first time Remy’s in Orlando has opened a solo rider.

Remy’s is a trackless dark ride that uses six-rider vehicles with two rows of three. Given the usual spread of guest group sizes, this makes it an ideal spot for solo riders. Theme parks use single occupancy lines to fill scattered seats that would otherwise be empty when groups are loaded onto rides, allowing rides to run closer to capacity and reducing wait times for everyone.

But if it works properly, a single rider can save a lot of time for fans who use it. Just don’t be that family that uses single queues to save time but then complains when everyone in the family is separated and seated separately. (Alternatively, as someone who frequently visits the park alone, don’t use the solo ride routes unless you’re actually a single visitor.)

Disney tells guests that Remy’s solo queue is a test and therefore may not be available at any given moment. But since the ride is designed for single-passenger queues, I wouldn’t be surprised to see this option become an option offered when the regular queues fill up to the point where single-passenger loads provide capacity advantages.

Walt Disney World recently tested solo queues in Star Wars: Resistance. Other solo rides at WDW include Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Ride, Expedition Everest and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster.
