Vacasa Where to Stay in San Pedro, Belize
Our time in Belize was split between Ambergris Caye and the interior near San Ignacio, which gave us the best of both worlds. In San Pedro we enjoyed beach time and incredible snorkeling on the Belize Barrier Reef, while our time inland was spent exploring nearby Mayan ruins. We started our journey on the island near the town of San Pedro, where Madonna sang about in her famous song. beautiful island beat. you can see why flying scenery!
we live in Royle Housea beautiful new three-story oceanfront home with a private pool, two balconies and a rooftop terrace overlooking Tarpon Bay. What makes this home so family-friendly is that you can rent one, two, or all three floors, depending on how much space and how many bedrooms you need.

We booked Lor-E-Lei House on the second floor (Click here to book), features a bedroom, a bathroom, laundry room, living room and a stunning kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. The open kitchen and living room feature floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors offering water views of Tarpon Bay.

We toured the entire house with Eric, a friendly maintenance man who greeted us and showed us how everything in the house worked. If you are a family of four, we recommend renting the second and third floors (Book here), let the children sleep on the 2nd floor and the parents sleep on the 3rd floor. If you have five or six people, Book the whole house.

The third level is the top floor, with an open plan bedroom and living room area featuring floor to ceiling sliding glass doors, meaning you wake up to beautiful sunrise views over the bay. The penthouse bathroom features a spacious shower area with dual high-end shower fixtures.

Both floors have a large balcony overlooking the bay, where we enjoyed the sunset with a glass of wine. We also visited the rooftop terrace for even better sunset and sunrise views!

The first level is a poolside suite with a bedroom, a separate full bathroom, and an outdoor shower for rinsing off if you enter the pool or bay. The spacious poolside terrace is equipped with lounge chairs, outdoor dining table and chairs, and another seating area has comfortable chairs for guests to relax and enjoy the view.

Where to stay in San Ignacio Vacasa
After four wonderful nights in San Pedro, we headed inland to explore the Mayan ruins. We stayed in the small village of Bullet Tree Falls, just 10 minutes from the larger town of San Ignacio. We stayed in the Monkey Suite in the Rosewood Room (Click here to book). This boutique luxury resort is located on the banks of the Mopan River in a lush, tropical setting.

Mahogany Hall has 2 Vacasa participating suites. This is the most luxurious vacation home in the area. This is different from a typical Vacasa rental in that you rent a suite at a boutique resort rather than owning your own home. Our favorite part of staying here was the peaceful setting and views.

The Monkey Suite has 2 double beds with a single bed underneath each bed. It sleeps 6 people, making it an excellent choice for large families. The bathroom features a jacuzzi tub and separate shower with bronze sink. There is a small table and minibar area with free filtered water, tea and coffee. There was also a water fountain in the hallway so we could refill our water bottles before heading out for the day’s adventures. Our room had fresh tropical bouquets and petals and a welcome message spelled out on the bed, which was a nice touch.

Keep in mind that this suite does not have a kitchen or refrigerator, so you won’t be able to cook your own meals like in a traditional Vacasa. However, the on-site restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner on a charming deck surrounded by tropical vegetation, where you can hear the Mopan River rushing about 60 feet away. There is also a bar area made of beautiful mahogany wood where you can enjoy a drink.

The breakfast and lunch menus are a la carte, while the dinner menu is 2 choices per night and you need to order in advance for $25 per person. We had breakfast in the restaurant one morning, but since we were busy exploring, all other meals were eaten outside the resort. We ate while enjoying the view and listening to the relaxing sounds of the river and nature.

Mahogany Hall features a small infinity pool overlooking the river. There are lounge chairs, hammocks and fire pits for you to enjoy the sounds of nature. We loved listening to all the bird songs and rainforest sounds at night. It’s incredibly soothing! You can also borrow an inner tube to raft the Mopan River, which is very fun. I was a little nervous about the crocodiles but rest assured they wouldn’t come to this part of the river.
