South Korea’s low-cost airline T’Way Air is changing seasonal services between Seoul and Zagreb, while outbound flights are operating continuously without technical parking in Kyrgyzstan. This is achieved by converting from the initially planned Airbus A330-300 to the long-distance A330-200 jet. Since the T’Way Air cannot fly over Russian airspace, this requires parking at Bishkek, which increases flight time. Last year, passengers were asked to board and get off the Kyrgyz capital, although tickets were not sold between Seoul and Bishkik or on this flight, or between Bishkek and Zagreb. Inbound services between Zagreb and Seoul will continue to go on, just like last year. The airline continues to operate in 2024 through its return service benefiting from shorter eastbound flight times and favorable seasonal winds.
Changes in aircraft type will also lead to a significant reduction in capacity, with more than 100 fewer seats per flight. In the summer of 2025, the airline will reduce its overall capacity on the Zagreb route by 12.322 seats from the initial planned 42.334 to 30.012. The year-on-year decline in production capacity was 19.322 seats. In 2024, T’Way Air handled 40.258 passengers between the two metropolises, with an average cabin load factor of 81.7% during the season. This year, T’Way Air will be serving one-time between the two on April 25, before returning to its regular three-week rotation from June 10 to October 25.
The A330-200 aircraft to be used by T’Way Air on the Zagreb route has been leased from Korea Airlines. They still have cabins from former operators. This includes 18 seats in business class and the remaining 228 economies. Similar to the T’Way Air, the business class seats are tilted, while each seat on the A330-200 has a personal TV screen, but the T’Way Air doesn’t turn them on. Business class passengers get priority inspections, 40 kg of checked baggage, two free meals, a pillow and a blanket, while economic travelers get 15 kg of checked baggage and two free meals. All other items, including blankets, pillows and drinks, can be purchased on board.
