When my daughter completed her studies at Trinity College (Dublin), I returned to explore a new trip created by Failte Ireland, the country’s main tourism agency. We learned that the competition between the luxurious Dublin 2 and the traditional working class Dublin 1 is deep, just like other north-south conflicts, but the tour of famous statues in the town is complemented by QR codes, which can be scanned, can be scanned to hear “famous” sounds that ensure enjoyment on both sides of the river.

As we explore our surroundings, we find that anyone interested in historical events or Irish heritage is interested in seeing everything available. It’s also fun to do in bar crawls.

listen Ten of the city’s most famous statues have newly awarded gifts to GAB, all you need is a working phone (Protip: Get an old phone and get a SIM card from Ireland’s telecommunications service”3‘“It cost 20 euros and it gave me 60 minutes of phone time, but more importantly, I can connect my American phone to free wifi) and a piece of tiny leather shoes.
Oscar Wilde
The first stop is Oscar Wilde. I visited his statue at Merrion Square, more than anyone else in the city. Emerald coat, expression on face, and It’s all perfect for the irony and more literary endeavors you read when the writer’s lounge gazed at the streets to his childhood home.

Scan the QR code, and Press the “Green” button to “Go!” your phone rings… Answer it and the statue will “talk” to you through some very talented actors.
You can listen to this witty and gorgeous gentleman hereWoolen cloth
George Bernard Shaw
Next, I crossed the street to the National Gallery of Ireland. They need to book to enter, but they are free. George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion (1912) became the film My Lady of Fairness (1964). He has a close connection with the gallery and feels he has received most of his education here. After Xiao died, he bequeathed one-third of the royalties to the museum. Funding for disadvantaged youth and society as a whole is sufficient to fund the program.
At the entrance to Claire Street you will see his statue in the hall.

Wolf
Wolfe Tone in St. Stephen’s Green this The revolutionary struggled to overthrow British rule and died in trouble, leaving a young wife and children behind.
I think I was impressed by Napoleon’s deputy comments. It helps to incorporate timelines one A better view.
Molly Malone
Down to Suffolk Street and meet with Molly Malone, the most famous (and fictional) fishmonger in Ireland. Her song of the same name has become the city’s informal national anthem. Her statue even admits.

When she made up, the song was referenced in history Express For example, “The Fair City of Dublin” and the Streets Supplier’s Shouting “Living O”. What I found interesting is that Michaela McMahon, an American exchange student, won the public writing contest to create Molly’s script.
Trinity College – Dublin
Next are two statues inside the walls of the Trinity Academy. The pandemic has overwhelmed me, although I have seen these statues many times when my daughter was in graduate school here.
Katie Byrne of Real Estate Facilities is very friendly and can share this information with me.
George Salmon is a 19th century Mathematicians spent their academic careers at TCD. From students to this Provost, he is not the one who keeps his opinion about himself. “Women will enter Trinity College of my body!” several tour guides told me he said. Well, he’s right. It is said that when women are granted the right to participate in the Trinity, no one is actually enrolled.

You can spend a few days exploring the Trinity campus. Kells Book. Growing Hall (one of my favorite places on campus). Pitch and tilt all the way to the east. Spend time in Campani Island and if you walk under it, you realize that students without the Trinity might do so. It is unfortunate to walk down before graduation.
You will be surprised by the spread of sculptures this campus. Many are Winning the awardlike the second entry of the speaking statue.
Conference Venue
Crossing the Liffey River through Ha’penny Bridge allows you to meet, also known as “the guy with a bag.” Despite the best efforts, none of us could find the QR code, so I found the site www.talkingstatuesdublin.ie.

This is what they say:Just across from the Hapeny Bridge, two women sat down and chatted in the middle of a busy day shopping, their bags at their feet. Jackie McKenna’s 1988 bronze sculpture gathering venue aims to reflect every day City life. Shortly after the sculpture was installed, one of the bags was stolen – a feat given that it was made of bronze and extremely heavy. The bag is now securely secured to the ground. ”
I hope they can recover the QR code as soon as possible.
It’s an easy walk from the party venue to O’Connell Street.
loyalty
Just above the Liffey River, you will see the Daniel O’Connell monument “The Great Liberator” with four women sitting below. Fidelity is a winged man with a dog on the right.
Others represent patriotism, courage and eloquence. The map tells us: “Dublin poet Paula Meehan[ing] Between one person/between one person Heartbeat Next. When you hear the walking meter fragments in the background, It is It’s easy to imagine every beat.
James Larkin
The James Larkin statue on O’Connell Street is right in front of the spire before the GPO.

“Big Jim”, physically and mentally, fought for the union of unskilled workers. He created “for a fair day’s salary, which is a fair day job.” He is now known for his role locked in Dublin in 1913.
You can listen to him here.
cú Chulainn
In the main post office (GPO), you will find cú Chulainn. You can this Outdoor, but the best view is this in(pass The high marble ceiling makes the recording sound amazing, exuding a few more gazes).

“Luge, son of warrior God, and mortal Dictine, young CúChulainn
(Cullin’s Hound) won his name after killing Smith Culann’s ferocious hound Self-defenseand provide his services as a guard dog. ”
Eamon de Valera, killed by the enemy’s lugaid battle, chose this statue to commemorate the Easter Rise in 1916. He found the “symbol of the sculpture”[e] The courage and lasting consistency of our people. ”
James Joyce
It’s about a block from James Joyce on North Earl Street. Ulysses, Finnegan’s Wake, portraits of young artists, while Dubliners are his works.
Mr. Joyce, a favorite resting place for tired shoppers or revelers, considered his permanent return to Dublin, a city he considered his writing center, despite living abroad throughout his life.

James Connolly
Finally, we turn to the Liffey River and find the James Connolly statue in Beresford Place.
He moved from Edinburgh to Dublin at the age of 14, and then one Trade union leaders, political theorists, writers and revolutionary socialists became leaders of the rise of Easter in 1916.

The executions of Mr. Connolly and other Easter-rise leaders have deeply angered the Irish, wake The sympathy between the United States and Britain led to Ireland’s independence.
Following these statues and visiting the cities around them gave me a new perspective on the city and I loved it more attentively as I was immersed in its history. It has been more than 1,300 years old, and most of its history has been lost. But I still thank the historians before me for helping me understand this land of my ancestors. And look forward to the next new way I can share with you in my adopted home.
