If you know golf, you know Punta Espada – one of the top courses in the Caribbean, designed by Jack Nicklaus and famous for its beachfront holes. But in a few months, the course would be known for something else: the St. Regis Resort.
The highly anticipated St. Regis Cabo Cana is set to open in the Dominican Republic in the spring, with a current opening date of April 26, just on the edge of Punta Espada.
The Marriott-owned resort is now accepting reservations for stays starting April 26, 2025, according to the St. Regis website.
So what do you need to know?
The resort will have 200 rooms, including some poolside, and nine food and beverage concepts, including a flagship restaurant called Nina and a beach bar called Marla. There is also a club-style bar called The Amber Room, and there is ample meeting space in the resort’s ballroom.
What’s the price? Factor in opening after the peak season and you’ll find room rates as low as $587 per night.
The opening of Cap Cana solidifies the Dominican Republic’s status as a top Caribbean golf destination, including, of course Casa de Campo in La Romana Regionincluding It can be said to be the top golf course in the entire Caribbean.
It also adds a major new addition to Cap Cana’s luxury hotel scene, which is home to two luxury resorts: the all-inclusive Cap Cana Sanctuary (also part of Marriott) and Eden Rock Cana Hotel Cana, where we stayed and absolutely loved it (especially the rooms and suites with private plunge pools).
St. Regis’ footprint in the Caribbean continues to expand, Including the St. Regis Canai Upcoming St. Regis hotels in the Mexican Caribbean and Aruba.
So how to get to Cap Cana? It’s part of Greater Punta Cana, which means you can fly directly to Punta Cana International Airport and be just a short drive away from the St. Regis. For more information on cheap flight options, check out google flights.
