“Sleeping Beauty” is Washington’s most underrated hike

“Sleeping Beauty” is Washington’s most underrated hike

Sleeping Beauty Hiking Washington

Will and I chose to escape to Mount Adams for the past weekend. The biggest question was deciding which hike to choose during a short escape, and we finally decided to do the mountain breath of Sleeping Beauty.

Highly recommend “Sleeping Beauty Mountain”, we decided to promise! And Holy Cow, let me tell you – this hike is easily underrated Washington hike.

Elevation is the name of the game here – but the view from the top is well worth it, trust me.

  • Distance: 3 miles and back
  • Altitude gain: 1,400′
  • Estimated hiking time: 1 hour

What is the name?

Sleeping Beauty Mountain is named because it looks like a mature woman in Trout Lake town (boobs to the sky) on the rocky outcrop.

Wear good traction in hiking boots
  • Even if the trail is well maintained, exposed roots are common. Traveling in the woods is easy, so put on the right shoes to be ready for success.
  • These are mine Hiking bootsif I can, I will sleep in them.
Hiking with puppies
  • Dogs are allowed on the trail, but must be placed on the leash.

Sleeping Beauty Hiking Overview

The “Sleeping Beauty Mountain Trail” starts steeply from the beginning. This girl won’t fool you, elevation gain is the name of the game. Hike all the way to the ridgeline on the top of the mountain.

This trail is breathtaking and it guides you through impressive towering trees. I recommend attracting opinions by taking simple steps along your way. What is rush?

We took a break at the top of 3/4 and I was glad we did because that 10 minutes of calm made it easy to enjoy the scenery.

Sleeping Beauty

After rest, keep moving forward until you find that the forest begins to thin. This is a good sign because it means you are approaching the top of the mountain.

As the terrain becomes less and the rocks increase, you become the ridgeline! Slow your heart rate as you absorb the incredible view of Mount Adams. Trust me – the top is even better!

Once filled, continue back along the steep rock switch to reach the top of the Sleeping Beauty.

I know it’s hard to believe that Mount Adams looks better than it looks from the ridgeline, but can be seen, and – here, she is all her pure glory!

More importantly, all cascading mountains will catch your attention. Looking around you will see Hood Mt. Hood, St. Helens and Rainier Mountains.

Take a snack or ten snacks and soak in your sight – you earn! Hiking is not easy, but the top reward is nothing to do.

After filling the top of the mountain, please feel free to go down. It’s easier to go down than to ascend, so take some time to enjoy the views!

We hope you enjoyed the hike of Sleeping Beauty on Mount Adams.

Sleeping Beauty forest fire monitoring

You may notice specific blocks on the top of the Sleeping Beauty’s mountain. This was once the “Sleeping Beauty” surveillance that has been deleted since then. Don’t believe me? You’re smarter than you seem.
