I recently visited SeaWorld Orlando for the first time in 15 years. Since the last visit, the park has added four coasters – Mako, Ice Breaker, Pipeline and Penguin Trek. I woke up on my first visit on a two-day visit to fly a drone to enjoy the different views of the theme park. See SeaWorld Orlando below.
Disclaimer: I am a UAV pilot held by the FAA remote pilot certificate after the FAA’s small UAS rules (part 107) and did not fly the drone over the Orlando Seaworld Orlando property.
The layout of Mako and Kraken almost completely surrounds the pond east of the park.
At this point, I haven’t visited the park yet, so seeing Mako Close Close makes me even more excited to ride the 2016 Bolliger & Mabillard Hyper Coaster.
Kraken first unveils a new green/dark blue paint program in 2022. I prefer the original turquoise/yellow, but this new color scheme works too.
Although Manta retains the original color scheme, it has also been repainted recently.
Two days I visited, the Sky Tower was closed, so the drone was the only way for me to appreciate the park from this high place.
Five of the Orlando coasters of the eight SeaWorld are B&M. From the foreground to the background, what you see in the footage above is Penguin Trek (2024), Manta (2010) and Pipeline (2023). Pipeline was a surprise for this trip – I hope we will see more standing surfers at B&M soon.
All five B&M coasters of the park can be seen in this frame.
Kraken’s Lift Hill offers beautiful views of the Orlando skyline, especially for those sitting on the far right of each row.
During my visit, the trip to Atlantis was closed for maintenance, although it was too cold to ride (at least for me).
However, the lifting mountains of Marco are far away from the park and the skyline.
To the far left is Orca encounters the stadium. During the visit, I couldn’t see the show, but it was a priority for the next time.
Since the park is not open yet, Kraken is testing with an empty train.
Paving to the northeast, I clearly see the universal epic cosmic theme park and its resort hotels that are about to open, including Stella Nova (We’ve reviewed it recently).
I can also enjoy the neighboring Aquatica Water Park.
Mako is a picturesque roller coaster. I’m glad I’m able to see it from this angle, if you’re in the park, it’s out of sight except for the big finale on the lake.
This angle illustrates the height difference between the “big three” in the Ocean World. I never realized that until I saw this (and quoted RCDB), Kraken was only 9 feet taller than the Manta.
