The training was conducted in the pavilion in Kathmandu and organized in partnership with the National Mountaineering Guide Association of Nepal (NNMGA).

A step to ensure the safety of the Himalayas

More than 30 climbing Shaba people at Satori Adventures participated in this basic training course to improve their first aid skills and deepen their understanding of mountain safety protocols. This course provides insight into all aspects of mountain safety, from dealing with highly disease to managing injuries from remote trails.

Comprehensive training of NNMGA

The training is professionally led by the Nepal National Mountaineering Guide Association (NNMGA), an organization known for its professional training in the field of mountain guidance and safety. First aid and general mountain safety courses provide important skills for responding to medical emergencies in high altitude settings. NNMGA’s extensive expertise ensures the careful preparation of the Climbing Sherpa Association as a unique challenge they may face during their expeditions.

The training covers various important aspects, such as:

  • First aid in remote areas: How to manage first aid in the distance with professional medical help.
  • High disease management: Recognize the symptoms of a high disease and understand how to manage it in a high-altitude environment.
  • Damage Response: How to deal with common injuries such as cracks, sprains and cutting to ensure that climbers and hikers can be cared for until they can receive proper treatment.

Build a safer, more knowledgeable team

Satori Adventures is known for its commitment to safety and excellence in hiking and climbing. Including these critical safety training programs not only improves the team’s skills, but also builds greater confidence between hikers and climbers guided by Satori Adventures’ expert Sherpas.

For Sherpas, this training is a valuable opportunity to update and refine its knowledge on mountain safety. Many participants have years of experience, but the rapid development of mountain adventure and safety protocols means continuous training is required. This training enables them to keep the forefront of safety practices and medical procedures to ensure they are ready for protection of hikers and their own high-altitude adventures.
