Royal Caribbeans announce 4 artists to make large murals on Ocean Stars

Royal Caribbean announced the choice of its next iteration of its artist discovery program. As part of the program, selected artists will display their work on the second class boat on this line, Star of the Ocean.

In the second round of the program, artists from the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, representative countries from Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and Haiti were selected. Each artist will receive a grant of between $20,000 and $100,000 to conceptualize and create customized large-scale murals that represent their local culture, experience and spirit in their country.

The artwork will be exhibited in four highly visible locations on board: Royal Waterfront Promenade Community, boarding area, suite sun deck hall and suite sun deck.

“We are excited about the overwhelmingly positive reactions of the artist’s discovery program,” said Jay Schneider, Royal Caribbean Royal Product Innovation Officer. “Partnering with the places we visited is what we do and at the heart of our Royal Caribbean. Whether it’s hosting a guest roundtable or hiring locals from destinations around the world, it’s important for us to work with the community we are in. This year’s choice was special and we’re very excited about the fanatical, beautiful and culturally friendly, and that’s where it’s about the see of the see of the see se see se se se se ss.

Over the course of a few months, the Royal Caribbean reviewed nearly 180 applications from 28 Caribbean countries. Candidates are asked to submit unpublished conceptual artworks, professional resumes, and personal statements to express how their artistic passions, life experiences, culture and future desires inspire their artworks.

The Artist Discovery Program aims to attract the attention of up-and-coming local artists in the Caribbean by providing them with a platform to showcase their art and increase their visibility while celebrating the locations and people who make the Royal Caribbean cruise, by showing them the artwork and increasing visibility. About the Artist

Nestor Omar Garcia “Angurria” from the Dominican Republic

From the moment the guests boarded Star of the Ocean, Garcia’s murals will illuminate the boarding area and give guests the final first impression. Garcia’s art represents his Dominican roots, bold choice of color and stories of his region creating vibrant and related works.

Anthony Smith O/C Taoszen from Jamaica

Smith’s mural will be Ocean Star Royal Gallery Community. Through his art, Smith strives to connect with the community and promote understanding and positive change. His previous works combine striking images, nature and bright colors to showcase complex themes in the world in a subtle way.

Saegel Bascombe from Trinidad and Tobago

Located in the luxurious escape in the suite’s sun hall, Bascombe’s art will further illuminate the resonance of this private oasis. Bascombe’s artistic nature is ignited by beautiful eclectic colors and patterns, celebrating her home theme while presenting fragmented colors.

Philippe Dodard from Haiti

When returning to showcase his unique works at the idol level, Dodard will create a mosaic work that evokes his rich history on the Suite Sun deck Star.

Ocean Star It is scheduled to debut in Canada Harbor, Florida this August. It will run a seven-night voyage to the Eastern Caribbean.
