Princess Cruises will host the 60th anniversary cruise of the famous 1960s singing group The Temptations later this year.
The legendary vocal group from Detroit performed their classic hit “My Girl” aboard the Discovery Princess last Saturday, giving passengers a taste of what’s to come.
Jill Whelan, cruise line’s Celebration Ambassador and star on the long-running The Love Boat TV show, delivering exciting news. Whelan will also host a 60th anniversary cruise. Princess Cruises promises to reveal more details about onboard events and special guests in the coming months.
A trip down memory lane in December 2025
Princess Cruises’ 14-day 60th Anniversary Mexican Riviera cruise is scheduled to depart Los Angeles on December 6, 2025. It will visit some of the same ports as the first Princess cruise ship, the Princess Patricia. This includes overnight stays in Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas, as well as visits to Manzanilla, Mazatlan, and Loreto.
Gus Antorcha, president of the cruise line, said the anniversary commemorates the launch of the first Princess cruise ship on December 3, 1965. “As we prepare to celebrate our 60th anniversary, we can’t help but look back to where it all started. The ship sailed to Mexico,” he began.
Antocha continued: “This 60th anniversary ship will not only pay tribute to our rich history, but also bring together the fun, music and unforgettable moments of cruising. Today’s performance by The Temptations offers a glimpse into our journey to this milestone Prepare for an exciting and unforgettable experience.”
Cruisers can already book space for the anniversary sailing. Fans of the Princess Premier package may notice a $10 price increase from $80 to $90 per day. this price increase Launching in August 2024, now includes unlimited specialty dining.
