Photo verification by Universal Orlando

Photo verification by Universal Orlando

The photo verification system uses state-of-the-art technology to verify your ticket. Like all new technologies, there are new vocabulary:

  • Photo verification It is the Universal State name entered by Universal Studios Orlando as the theme park.
  • one Photo template Is the facial measurement data collected by infrared sensors to match you with your admission fee.
  • What we call sensors, cameras and lights used to make photo templates are Photo sensor.

Unlike facial recognition photos, Universal will not take photos of your face or store photos. Photo verification uses 3D measurement data from the photo sensor located on the black bar above the black bar above the rotary gate (see above). The 3D measurements performed by the IR sensor and the 3D camera system form a photo template. The system is similar to FaceID or Facial Recognition on iPhones on Microsoft Kinect. The photo template data is unrecognized and is deleted within six months of capture. The video displayed on the screen is a live feed that allows guest assistance during the process and is not stored.

Spider-Man’s amazing adventure

Wait, does it take my photos? What data was collected and how long was stored?

No, your photos are not taken. Photo verification requires a set of infrared sensors to create your facial photo templates that are only available to this system. Like before deletion, photo template data was stored for up to six months, just like its fingerprint reader data.

Can I opt out of photo verification?

Select to cancel photo verification in the entrance revolving door or guest relationship. Once done, you will be asked to display your photo ID when entering the park.

Do children and guests need photo verification when sitting in wheelchairs?
