Luxury Wild Horse Garcey Peninsula Camp will open in September: Travel Weekly

Wilderness plans to open an eight-bed luxury safari camp in September on the private Magashi peninsula in Akagera National Park, Rwanda.

The new wilderness Magash Peninsula will consist of a four-bed villa and two separate double rooms strategically located 200 metres apart, overlooking the Rwanyakazinga Lake and the Mutumba Mountains.

All accommodations rise above the ground to maximize the view of residents’ wildlife, including hippos and crocodiles in the lake, and Buffalo and elephants freely cross the peninsula. The campground welcomes children under the age of 6, although families between 6 and 12 years old must book a private car for use.

Luxurious accommodation

The villa consists of two double suite rooms connected to the public living space of the lounge, dining area and kitchen. It also includes an additional adaptable connecting room that can be used as a gym, children’s room or office to accommodate up to six guests. The Wilderness Magashi Peninsula will offer guests several signature experiences, including private water-based tours on pontoon bridges or swamp cruisers, fishing and release fishing, guided night driving and rooftop star beds for overnight stays.

New hotel complements the recently opened in Wilderness Rwanda Double-layer reserve Near the Volcano National Park, it is an opportunity for travelers to combine gorilla hiking with traditional safaris on a single Rwandan itinerary.
