If you were like me and grew up in the ’90s or early 2000s, you’re probably familiar with Lindora, Weight Watchers, Atkins, South Beach, and all the other diet fads that came and went. If you’re like me, you’ve probably dabbled in some (Okay – most) in.
Yes! Turns out, that’s not entirely healthy. No wonder the results never really stuck.
After years of research, trial and error, and first-hand experience, I finally found a lifestyle that helps me maintain optimal body and health into my 40s, even after four children . The best part? It’s simple, sustainable, and lets you enjoy good food again!
lifestyle changes
If you’ve been following me for a while, you probably know this story. But for those who don’t, here’s a quick version:
My oldest son, Camden, became passionate about health and nutrition after watching me battle multiple miscarriages. He guided me through a complete lifestyle change – revamping my diet and introducing me to the reverse diet (More on this below)and prioritize strength training and daily exercise.
Long story short, after three consecutive miscarriages, I had the healthiest pregnancy ever at age 39 and gave birth to my super healthy baby boy, Jack, without any complications. No preeclampsia, no HELLP syndrome (which I have with my three other biological children), and no medicated delivery! I also transitioned to a drug-free lifestyle and you can Read more about here.
Camden further fueled his enthusiasm and won his Application of OFNC in female hormone counseling, Application of CPPC in prenatal/postnatal counselingand specializes in menopause. So far he has helped 750 women Transform their health and achieve the body of their dreams. If you’re curious, you can Learn more about his plans here.
This is just a glimpse of the transformation he helped me achieve!
A plan that changes everything
This works for me:
- reverse dieting to regulate my metabolism. This means gradually increasing my calorie intake while prioritizing protein and whole foods.
- Learn about food—Understand that not all calories are the same and healthy fats are not the enemy.
- strength training— Camden developed a strength training program that had me lifting weights 4 times a week (I like– This is much better than exhausting yourself with endless aerobic exercise! ).
- daily steps—Aim to take 10,000 steps a day.
- I have been engaged in stress management, merge meditation Lowers my cortisol levels.
- Quality supplements——I started taking it Mary Ruth’s Multivitamins and seed probioticsAs well as some additional supplements that Camden recommended to improve my sleep and bowel function.
Speaking of sleep, before this, I would wake up for 30 minutes to an hour every night due to higher cortisol levels. Since making these changes, I am finally getting a full night’s sleep and waking up feeling refreshed!

But how do I stick to a whole foods lifestyle when I’m so busy?
Balancing a healthy lifestyle while raising six children, running a business and traveling frequently? I’m not going to lie, this can be difficult to manage. But after years of trial and error, I’ve found a system that works:
- food delivery service——When I am particularly busy, I rely on factor meal Get nutritionist-approved quick meals that take just minutes to prepare. I love that these are fresh, never frozen and can be stored in our freezer. I ordered the protein or calorie focused options and they were absolutely delicious (my whole family loved them!).
- home cook—I choose their healthier options and make simple swaps, like using Greek yogurt instead of sour cream or cutting out the oil.
- Stock up on whole foods—We always have fresh fruits and vegetables in the house and if time allows, we prepare meals using the following recipes Camden guidethis Clean and simple eating appand Macro Recipes from Lillie Eats & Tells.
- stay hydrated-I always Carry a bottle of water with you.
- Healthy grab-and-go options——I keep MOSH bars, shredded cheese, unsalted nuts, apples, alternative nut butter packets and Clean Simple Eats protein packets convenient.
- Make smart choices when dining out——I prioritize Protein and healthy fats use Cam’s Fast Food Cheat Sheet.
- Track macros (until I don’t need them anymore)——For a long time, I used my fitness partner to track macros, but now I can eat intuitively without sacrificing my physique because I Know How my body reacted.
