Designed to bring sensory stimulation, the Dopeameme Institute for Pleasure (DIPR) has opened in Area15, Las Vegas’ immersive arts and entertainment district.
The 30-minute story-driven experience turns guests into “test subjects.” They encountered a dozen different activations and four interactive experiences, each designed to trigger a real dopamine surge.
One such experience is Benjamin’s Wash ‘n’ Fold, a laundromat-themed space complete with stationary bikes. Guests pedal to activate a screen on the front of the bike, and how quickly they pedal determines the fate of the character on the screen. In another setting that blends a beauty salon and a correctional facility, guests answer often embarrassing questions over the phone and are judged on their veracity.
In another room, guests are encouraged to “dance like no one is watching” while motion capture technology produces avatars of their movements. In the control room, guests can change the music, lighting and sound effects in the first three rooms for other visitors.
Who is behind the scenes
This is the first physical interactive attraction for Super Plastic, which often partners with well-known brands and artists to create intellectual property (IP) and synthetic celebrities (digital replicas of real-life celebrities).
Super Plastic CEO Jennifer van Dijk said: “DIPR transforms Super Plastic’s world of IP characters into unforgettable IRL (real life) experiences, masterfully blending twisted humor in a way we’ve never done before. , physical engagement and immersive entertainment.”
The retail store sells toys and apparel. There’s even a Dopeameme Hangover Kit, which includes items to recover from a night of Vegas-style indulgence.
The Dopeameme Happiness Institute is open Sunday to Wednesday from 11am to 9pm and Thursday to Saturday from 11am to midnight. Guests must be 16 years or older to enter Dopeameme unless accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older. All guests must be 18 years or older to visit Thursday to Saturday from 9pm to midnight and the experience includes adult humor.
General admission is $35 (plus tax). Groups of 10 or more receive a 20% discount when booking in advance. Tickets can be purchased online. Dopeameme is also included in Area15 Experience Pass Applicable to levels 2, 3 and 4.
