License application: Disneyland demolishes La Brea Bakery

Disneyland has finally submitted a permit to demolish the former La Brea Bakery in downtown Disney. The site is currently the site of the Earl of Sandwich.

according to Theme park IQThe permit states that the bakery building will be demolished and the two ticket stations in Disney California adventures. The area will eventually become a bakery in the new Porto announced a few years ago.

License Entry:
DTD – La Brea Bakery/Bldg #K – Box Office #7/8 – Demolition: 2,610 sq. ft. bakery/restaurant, with utilities posted and foundation to be demolished. 865 square feet box office #7 comes with a utilities cap and wants to remove the foundation. 865 sq.ft ticket room #8

Looking at the concept art of the bakery, the building seems to take up a lot of space. The permit shows two ticket booths being demolished and it is safe to say that the Porto bakery will be the location in downtown Disney!

Porto’s Bakery & Cafe is a highly anticipated addition to downtown Disney with delicious sweet pastries, desserts and unique California-Cuban-style cuisine throughout California. When it opens, visitors can look forward to savoring signature items such as the famous Potato Ball (Papa Rellena) with its rich potato puree and Rosa’s picadillo, the irresistible Cheese Roll with its creamy filling in flaky puff pastry, the savory Chicken Empanda filled with Cuban-style chicken fricassee, and the sweet and tangy Refugiado (Guava and Cheese Strudel).

Disney had previously announced that construction will begin in Porto in 2025, and Porto had previously shared that their new location “will come to downtown Disney in Anaheim in 2025.” The bakery has no official opening date, but we can’t wait to dine there!
