Disney World Crowd Calendar 2020

Disney World Crowd Calendar 2020

Even though our family lives in SoCal (just 45 minutes from Disneyland), we still hike 30 times nationwide to visit Disney World Resort Park! We quickly learn that the magic of Disney World is not very pleasant when it is overcrowded.

The key to a great visit is usually to choose the right time. So, I’ll bring you mine Disney World Crowd Calendar 2025Woolen cloth

Disney World Crowd Calendar 2025

The best time is when the price is reasonable, the crowd can be managed and the temperature is tolerated. When all three happen to be in ideal state at the same time, the stars are aligned several times a year. If you can’t hit them all, aim two-thirds of your target.

We looked at a range of factors that most visitors care about: prices, crowds, activities and weather. This is a monthly crash and updated with 2025 holidays and events.

January

January’s first week at Disney World is usually bustling, especially Walt Disney World Marathon from January 8-12. After the event, the park became increasingly crowded, providing a more relaxed experience. Our family loves traveling late January – it is peaceful, the weather is mild but cool.

advantage:

  • A small crowd after the first week
  • Affordable hotel prices
  • Rain is rarely seen in mild weather
  • Epcot’s Art Festival Starting from mid-January

shortcoming:

  • Cold mornings and evenings (Florida!)
  • Epcot sees heavier crowds due to festivals

Special Events:

  • Walt Disney World Marathon: January 8-12
  • Epcot’s Art Festival: January 17 to February 24
  • MLK Jr. Weekend: January 17-19

February

February at Disney World is a comparison of quiet weekdays and bustling holiday weekends. Earlier this month is ideal for lower populations and mild temperatures. This time of year our family found the weather was so good that it was perfect for strolling around the park without the hot summers.

advantage:

  • Earlier small crowd
  • Affordable hotel prices (outside holiday weekends)
  • Comfortable weather
  • Epcot’s Art Festival lasts until February

shortcoming:

  • Increased crowds during holiday weekends and events
  • Cool mornings and nights

Special Events:

  • Art Festival: January 17 to February 24
  • Carnival: February 25
  • Presidential Date Holiday: February 14-17
  • Princess Half Marathon Weekend: February 20-24

March and April

Spring brings beautiful flowers and active Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. March and April are popular due to spring break and Easter. If you visit in early March, you can enjoy a festival that manages the crowd.

advantage:

  • Beautiful weather – heating, but not too hot
  • Amazing displays and live concerts from Epcot
  • Longer park time

shortcoming:

  • Crowd peaks during spring break and Easter
  • Higher hotel prices

Special Events:

  • Epcot Flower & Garden Festival: February 28-May 27
  • Easter: April 20
  • Lundisney Spring Surprise Weekend: April 3-6

possible

May is one of our favorite times to visit! The weather is warm, but it is not stuffy yet, and the crowd is moderate. In addition, the Flowers and Garden Festival is in full bloom, which is my personal favorite.

advantage:

  • Medium crowd
  • Warm, pleasant weather
  • Longer park time and less renovation

shortcoming:

  • Hotel prices begin to climb
  • Occasional spring rain

Special Events:

  • Epcot Flower & Garden Festival lasts until May 27
  • Mother’s Day: May 11
  • Memorial Day: May 26

June, July and early August

Summer is the peak crowd season at Disney World. That said, our family enjoys summer visits by using the morning and late evening to beat the calories and crowds. Don’t forget your poncho – afternoon showers are common!

advantage:

  • Extend the park hours and more entertainment
  • Waterpark is a refreshing choice
  • Most attractions are fully operational

shortcoming:

  • The crowd is high, especially around July 4th
  • Hot, humid weather, heavy rain every day
  • Premium hotel pricing

Special Events:

  • Father’s Day: June 15
  • Junteenth: June 19
  • July 4 celebration: July 4

Late August and September

This is a hidden gem time! In late August, after the school returned, the park was empty. On a visit in September, we rode our bikes with minimal waiting and felt like a dream.

advantage:

  • Reduce hotel costs
  • Free Meal Plan Offer (Historically available in September)
  • Warm weather in the swimming pool and water park

shortcoming:

  • Hot and humid conditions, heavy rain in the afternoon

Special Events:

  • Labor Day weekend: September 1
  • Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: Starting in late August (date TBD)
  • Rosh Hashanah: September 22-24

October and early November

Autumn brings joyful weather and festivals. Disney’s Halloween is an explosion, and Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival is in full swing. The weekends may be busy with locals and festivals.

advantage:

  • Cool temperature
  • Fun autumn decorations and activities
  • Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival Delicacies

shortcoming:

  • Weekend crowds may be important

Special Events:

  • Halloween celebrations: All October weekends
  • Mickey’s “Not So Weird” Halloween Party: Featured Date in October
  • Indigenous Peoples Day: October 13

Late November and December

The Disney World holiday is amazing! We love visiting the week after Thanksgiving – the park is beautifully decorated and the crowds are amazing. If you can’t swing, any time in December (before the holiday rush) is fascinating.

advantage:

  • Stunning festive decorations and parades
  • The lighter crowds between December 1 and 15
  • Cool, pleasant weather
Disney World Christmas

shortcoming:

  • Peak crowd during Thanksgiving and Christmas week
  • Hotel prices are highest during holidays

Special Events:

  • Thanksgiving: November 27
  • Mickey’s Merry Christmas Party: December’s Choice Date
  • Hanukkah begins: December 14
  • Christmas celebrations: December 18-31

Quick tips to avoid crowds:

Even if you visit while you are busy, you can still have a magical experience:

  • First head to the left and right of the park – most guests go right!
  • Avoid extra magical time unless you stay on the property. Visit these parks the next day.
  • use My Disney experience The app finds a ride with a lower waiting time.
  • Try your knowledge Lightning lane Before you go, especially during peak hours.
  • Don’t forget to pack a poncho – summer showers are no joke!

So, when do we like to visit?

This is a split! We love the holiday magic of the week before Christmas, but the plums occupy our hearts with special weather, modest crowds and Epcot’s flowers and garden festival.

Of course, any visit to Disney World is magical – this guide is just to help you plan the best experience.
