Opened in February 2024 Sylvester– The wilderness in Spanish is located on the main real estate between the rainforest and the Nicoa Peninsula Beach in Costa Rica. The area is known for its blue area status and is full of juice bars, smoothie bowls, yoga classes and surfers of all ages. Playa Guiones directly before the property, offering 330 days of rideable wave conditions annually, a paradise for those who wish to jump on the board, or just enjoy pinch the sunset.
Residential
Instead of being labeled as a hotel room, Silvestre is home to a nine-bedroom two-bedroom home with a stunning minimalist beach aesthetic that contains rich woods and travertine. Obviously, the design process and its furniture are perfect for homes or groups. Each bedroom has a full bathroom; there is a spacious living space for a shared lounge, eight dining tables, washer/dryer and a smooth kitchen, which is piled with local eggs, bread, produce, honey when you arrive wait. The grand residence of tropical gardens comes with a barrel sauna and ice bath. And because it is Nosara, each bedroom has a unique surfboard from Marbella’s shaper Douglas Evan.
Health and wellness
The owner of Silvestre is a self-proclaimed surfing and gymnasium enthusiast, so it is no surprise that the ground floor of the property is equipped with a sports room that competes with the equinox and state-of-the-art equipment. Customized wellness classes are also available to book in the space at any time, and indoor aromatherapy massages, including a variety of oils, steam and music, are one of the best aromatherapy I have. The Rooftop Penthouse features a lovely swimming pool nestled among the canopy of green leaves, and is more crowded with colorful birds than guests. Including breakfast from local markets offers healthy options such as avocado toast on homemade sourdough, smoothies and granola bowls, and breakfast burritos. The extra benefit for surfers is unlimited to use custom designed Jim Banks performance surfboards.
Outstanding staff
The staff at Silvestre stand out with a perfect balance of kindness and helping. The service of the concierge is a text that you will often find guests hanging out at the front desk for excellent advice from the staff. Friendly operations manager Rodolfo greeted guests with personal attention, and the front desk greeted Adolfo, suggesting the best fish and meat raw horses in the town. Rachel is one of the property’s star bartenders and eavesdrops on my friend’s love for plants and flowers. The next morning she brewed a refreshing lemongrass and Ylang Ylang iced teas that were picked from her own garden and she provided us with a poolside.
what to do
Nosara offers the best waves in the world, but there is more to do besides surfing. The hotel has many signature experiences, but it is easy to customize the guests’ request for horse riding, ATV trips, fishing, boat rentals or exploring nearby waterfalls. We booked a zipper trip and when I casually asked the staff if they had done zip before, they mentioned that they had to test the company before sending guests just to ensure the best experience. The property is also easy to walk into Surf Town’s many high-end wet restaurants, bars and shops.
