Türkiye has been on my bucket list for a while. This country has always fascinated me with its rich history, diverse culture and stunning landscapes. When I finally got the chance to visit, I decided to book a tour with Thrillophilia. Based on greatness Comments on horror fetish I had read it and I knew it was the right choice. This is a glimpse into my journey.
Historic and vibrant Istanbul
My adventure begins with Istanbulthe vibrant nation’s capital. My exploration of this wonderful city begins with the iconic Hagia Sophia, a majestic building that has been a church, a mosque, and now a museum. Standing under the majestic dome, surrounded by stunning mosaics, I couldn’t help but be in awe of the layers of history surrounding me.
From there, we headed to the Blue Mosque, another architectural marvel known for its intricate tile work and peaceful atmosphere. After strolling through Sultanahmet Square, I ventured to Topkapi Palace, home to the Ottoman sultans for centuries. The palace grounds, ornate rooms and stunning views of the Bosporus are breathtaking.
Of course, no trip to Istanbul would be complete without a visit to the Grand Bazaar. This huge market is a maze of shops selling everything from spices and textiles to ceramics and jewelry. I spent a few hours wandering through the vibrant stalls, picking out some treasures to take home.

Cappadocia fairytale landscape
After the exciting exploration of Istanbul, it’s time to head to Cappadocia. I had read and seen photos of Cappadocia, but I wasn’t prepared for what it had to offer. The otherworldly landscape of fairy chimneys, rock formations and cave dwellings is unlike anything I have ever seen.
On my first day, I explored the Goreme Open Air Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that features ancient rock-cut churches and beautifully preserved frescoes. Walking in the cave, I felt like I was traveling back in time.
The next morning was the most magical part of my trip, flying in a hot air balloon over the Cappadocia Valley. Floating above the stunning scenery at sunrise was an experience I will never forget. Hundreds of colorful balloons fill the sky and the sun casts a golden glow on the rocks, which is truly breathtaking.
Pamukkale Pamukkale
The next stop on my Turkish adventure is pamukkalefamous for its white terraces of hot spring pools. Pamukkale, better known as the “Cotton Castle”, is an almost surreal natural wonder. Walking barefoot on the terrace with the warm mineral-rich water flowing around me was incredibly soothing.
I also ventured to Hierapolis, an ancient city located above Pamukkale. The ruins of Roman baths, temples and a well-preserved amphitheater offer a glimpse into Türkiye’s rich history.
Ephesus: a journey through ancient history
One of the most memorable parts of my trip to Türkiye was visiting the ancient city of Ephesus. As someone who loves history, I was shocked by the size and state of preservation of the site. Walking through Marble Street, passing the Library of Celsus, and standing in the Grand Theater where ancient performances were held, I can almost imagine life thousands of years ago.
The Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, is now in ruins. I also visited the House of the Virgin Mary, believed to be Mary’s final resting place.
Sun, sea and relaxation in Bodrum
After all the history and exploration, I was ready to relax and Bodrum provided the perfect escape. This coastal city is famous for its stunning beaches, clear waters and lively marina. I wandered around the Aegean Sea, soaking up the sun and enjoying the laid-back atmosphere of the town.
I also had the opportunity to explore Bodrum Castle, which houses the Underwater Archaeological Museum. The view from the castle overlooking the turquoise waters is stunning. Bodrum was the perfect way to end my Turkish adventure, offering the perfect combination of relaxation and culture.
in conclusion
In short, my trip to Türkiye was extraordinary. This country is a treasure trove of history, culture and natural beauty, and I feel incredibly lucky to have experienced it. If you are thinking about traveling to Türkiye, don’t hesitate and go for it. It is a spectacular destination that will leave you spellbound.
