Earlier this summer, Cedar Point announced a new roller coaster for the 2025 season. The news comes as a surprise as many people were anticipating a new water park attraction. Even more surprising, Cedar Point is also getting a new coaster for the 2024 season (if only briefly). Top Thrill 2 initially welcomed guests in May but closed shortly after. Currently, Top Thrill 2 is expected to reopen in 2025. This means Cedar Point will have two new roller coasters for the first time this upcoming season.

What does having two new coasters opening around the same time mean for Cedar Point’s 2025 season?
Two new roller coasters, one epic season
Top Thrill 2 debuts at the start of Cedar Point’s 2024 season. The roller coaster has received mostly positive reviews Comment. However, its success was short-lived as it shut down less than a week after its debut. Cedar Point said mechanical issues with the coaster built by Zampella were the reason for the lengthy closure. August, Cedar Point Announce Top Thrill 2 will remain closed through the 2024 season and will reopen next year.

Shortly after Top Thrill 2 announced its closure, Cedar Point announced the launch of its newest roller coaster. The roller coaster, Siren’s Curse, is a Vekoma tilt coaster that will break records for the tallest, fastest and longest tilt coaster. It features a tilt-descent feature that allows passengers to tilt 90 degrees and then plummet 160 feet. The coaster will include multiple inversions, 13 flight moments and speeds of 58 miles per hour.
How two new roller coasters will impact crowds
Thrill-seekers hoping to experience not just Top 20 but also Curse of the Siren will flock to Cedar Point in the summer of 2025. The park is likely to see an increase in visitor numbers during the 2025 season. Cedar Point is already a very popular park, home to incredible roller coasters like Maverick, Steel Vengeance, and Millenium Force. The debut of two new coasters (and parts of that debut) will only solidify its status as the roller coaster capital of the world.

While attendance at Cedar Point will increase next summer, the debut of two new roller coasters could have a positive impact on visitor spending. The newest coasters are always the most popular and almost always have the longest lines. With two new coasters to carve out new interests, not only will queue times for Top Thrill 2 and Siren’s Curse likely be slightly shorter, but wait times for the established coasters will also be reduced as many people will be heading to the two newest coasters. It will also be shorter.
The biggest drop in crowd numbers is likely to be in the Frontiertown area of the park. This area of the park is further away from the two new roller coasters. Crowds may also be smaller at the park’s boardwalk areas. However, it is filled with many family-friendly attractions and groups with children will still tend to visit in droves. Fans of Maverick and Steel Vengeance may find the 2025 season to be the perfect time to ride these attractions while guests are busy riding the two new coasters in the heart of the city.
Ticket and Season Ticket Pricing
The extra two coasters don’t appear to have a significant impact on 2025 pricing. However, guests can also choose to purchase for the first time All park passes The season pass add-on gives them access to not only all Cedar Fair parks, but all traditional Six Flags parks. This pass is worth less than half the price of a Walt Disney World annual pass.

Cedar Point has never had two coasters open in the same season. The park also hasn’t had two major coasters in consecutive seasons. While Top Thrill 2 technically debuted last season, it’s been available for less than a week. The 2025 season will be Top Thrill 2’s true debut alongside Curse of the Siren.
