Pacific Adventure cruise ship to be renamed Carnival Adventure

Originally announced in June 2024 pacific adventure and Pacific Encounter Part of Australia’s P&O Cruise Lines will be absorbed by Carnival Corporation. Although P&O Cruises Australia is part of Carnival Corp. & plc, the Australian brand is being closed and merged into the Carnival Cruise Line brand.

The two vessels will undergo refurbishment in a two-week wet dock in March 2025.

Shortly after these improvements and name changes, these cruise ships will begin offering cruise services to the Australian market.

While we don’t have many details yet on what additions and renovations will be taking place during the two-week renovation, Carnival did reveal some onboard features For both boats.

  • Carnival “Happy Squad”: The onboard entertainment team will bring the fun with comedy shows, organize lively deck parties, and host engaging games.
  • Turtle Kids Club: A new child care service for children under two that includes activities such as arts and crafts, story time, dance and sensory play.
  • Classic carnival fun: Look forward to the “Build-A-Bear” workshops familiar to Carnival passengers, children’s congas, and an ’80s-themed “Rock and Glow” night.

Despite the rebranding, the ships will retain some of the much-loved P&O Cruises Australia experience.

Guests can still visit the Byron Beach Club, Edge Adventure Park, dine at Luke Mangan’s Luke’s Bar & Grill, dine at Angelo’s and Dragon Lady and watch the Blanc de Blanc show.

This fusion ensures a new Carnival style combined with classic Australian cruise elements.

Carnival presence in Australia

Although Carnival Corporation has ended operations with P&O Cruises in Australia, Carnival Cruise Lines continues operations with its predecessor cruise line.

Carnival expects to welcome more than 600,000 cruise passengers on its ships in Sydney and Brisbane in 2025 alone.

With these ships, Carnival Cruise Line will have four ships serving the South Pacific market. This includes those in Sydney Carnival splendor and Carnival Luminosa In addition to the newly renamed vessel joining its fleet, the vessel also sails seasonally from Brisbane.
