The best flights to book
Although there were extensive business-class availability in various cities earlier today, the vast majority of premium reward spaces now seem to be in first class. The best way to get JetBlue TrueBlue points
JetBlue TrueBlue is a transfer partner for the following credit card reward programs:
If you want to transfer points from a partner to a JetBlue TrueBlue account, your best bet is Chase or Citi because they have a much better transfer rate than AMEX. For example, if you want to book a one-way top-notch award from New York to Tokyo, you need 185,000 Chase or Citi points, but 231,250 Amex points. So, consider it.
Also, make sure the reward flight you want is available before making any transfers as these rewards are irreversible.
Bottom line
Japan Airlines Premium Awards Space has been having a hard time redeeming miles from partner programs recently. The choice of JetBlue TrueBlue points for redemption of JAL flights was only online earlier this week, and so far, it’s exciting that even in business class, the affordable savings awards are the same. However, over the past few months, JAL’s business and first-class rewards are available at a level that is unprecedented.
It is nice to be cautious before booking – we don’t think this is a wrong fare and we were able to make confirmed reservations on our own in First Class to give you the best advice. However, we are talking a lot of points, especially for those coveted first-class tickets, so make sure you have a specific, readable award before making any credit card point transfers. And if you end up riding in JAL First Class, it’s definitely a memorable experience worth all of these points.
