ATPCO, an expert in merchandise sales and pricing data for airlines, has appointed Karen Slinger as the new chairman of its board of directors.
Slinger currently serves as Global Revenue Director for British Airways, a British national airline, bringing 25 years of aviation experience to the position.
In her current role, she is responsible for implementing new revenue management systems, advancing price optimization strategies, and investing in modern airline retail solutions, but has previously held senior positions in financial, commercial and cabin staff management.
Slinger replaced Maarten van der Lei, senior vice president and revenue management, who has held a new role at Royal Dutch Airlines.
It has been transforming as the company appointed Alex Zoghlin as president and CEO in January 2021.
This year, the company celebrates its 60th anniversary, and its catalog solutions are making “significant” progress to enable 80% of airline quotes to be created dynamically by the end of 2026.
“ATPCO plays a crucial role in driving innovation and efficiency in airline pricing and retail, ensuring the industry’s growth. I am honored to serve as Chairman of ATPCO’s Board of Directors during this transformative period of the aviation industry.”
“I look forward to working with the Board and the ATPCO team to support the evolving needs of airlines and travelers around the world.”
“Karen’s extensive experience in revenue management and visionary leadership make her an excellent choice to lead our board. Her insights will be invaluable as we continue to develop solutions to enhance airline retail and distribution solutions,” Zoghlin said.
Karen replaced Maarten van der Lei, senior vice president and revenue management, who has held a new role at Royal Dutch Airlines.
