Aimbridge expands the board of directors of the management committee after reorganization


Plano, Texas –AIMBRIDGE Treatment Announced the appointment of an expanded management committee, which brings experience in hospitality and enhances Aimbridge’s foundation. These board appointments follow the completion of the company’s previously announced balance sheet restructuring.

Four new managers – Glenn Alba, Rich Gomel, Carrie McIntyre and Manny Pearlman join current board member Steve Joyce and AIMBridge Hospitality CEO Craig S. Smith.

“We are excited to join Glenn, Rich, Carrie and Manny on the Aimbridge Board at this important moment in the company,” Smith said. “They bring an impressive track record and a lot of expertise in hotels, real estate and finances, and we look forward to leveraging their leadership and unique insights to deliver top-notch hotel operations performance, thereby enhancing our position as a hotel operator of choice.”

With the support of the company’s lender, Aimbridge converted more than $1 billion in debt into equity and acquired $100 million in new capital. This enhanced balance sheet provides enhanced liquidity and new resources to further invest in the company’s strategic and operational capabilities, drive performance and enhance its leadership.

The following independent managers have been appointed by new investors:

Glenn Alba

Glenn Alba is an established real estate and hotel investor with over 23 years of institutional investment experience in all types of commercial real estate in the United States and abroad. He is currently a co-founder and executive member of TMGOC Ventures, a real estate and development private equity firm focusing on the hospitality industry and multifamily. He previously founded and served as CEO of Opterra Capital. His experience also includes 20 years at Blackstone Real Estate where he served as global portfolio management head and led asset management for Blackstone Real Estate’s U.S. Hotel Investment. Alba previously served as Corepoint Lodging Inc. and La Quinta Holdings, Inc. and the board of directors of the Interstate Hotels and Resorts Owners Advisory Board and the Doubletree Hotels Owners Advisory Board.

Rich Gomel

Rich Gomel has held several investment and operational leadership positions in companies around the world and has experience in real estate asset classes. He is currently a partner and chief investment officer at two Sigma Real Estates, where he manages the overall investment activities of the business. He previously worked for Starwood Capital Group and Starwood Hotels, and most recently served as managing director. During this period, he served as CEO of Groupe du Louvre, a company in Xingmu Capital Group. After Starwood, Gomel served as a senior investment officer and was one of the opportunistic real estate partners of JP Morgan Asset and Wealth Management. Before joining two Sigma Real Estates, Gomel was a managing partner of WeWork’s real estate investment platform ARK. Gomel has served on various boards, including the Groupe du Louvre, Baccarat, Baccarat, Hersha Hotel Management and the 21c Museum Hotel.

Carrie McIntyre

Carrie McIntyre combines financial expertise with nearly 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. She is currently a partner and CEO of Viridis Fund Solutions. Prior to joining Viridis, she held leadership roles in finance, including CEO of Stepstone Group’s third-party fund management business and Chief Financial Officer of Greenspring Associates, where she managed all of the venture capital firm’s fund accounting responsibilities. Prior to this, McIntyre has served in various accounting, finance and corporate leadership positions in the hospitality industry, including corporate curator and resort company, as well as financial director and chief financial officer of interstate hotels and resorts, thus merging with AIMBridge Hospitality. During his tenure at Interstate, McIntyre was a member of the leadership team, responsible for multiple M&A deals in the purchase, while the seller operates under various public and private ownership structures. As CFO, McIntyre worked closely with interstate private equity sponsors and management teams to drive transformation strategies and operational plans that generate revenue growth as margins expand.

Emanuel Pearlman

Manny Pearlman has over 35 years of experience in investing, performing finance, operations, and investing with public transactions and private companies, performing finance, operations and consulting positions. He has worked in a variety of industries including hotels, leisure, gaming, logistics, retail and wholesale. He is currently the Chairman and CEO of Liberation Investment Group. He is Midcap Financial Investment Corporation, Diebold Nixdorf, Inc. and LSC Communications LLC Board Members. He also serves on the advisory board of venture capital firm Sharp Alpha Advisors. Perlman previously served as chairman of Empire Resorts and Network-1 Technologies, Fontainebleau Miami Beach Hotel and Jameson Inns, Inc. board of directors.

The new board members will convene the new board along with Steve Joyce and Craig S. Smith.
