Should you visit Jordan in 2025? I think, absolutely! It’s very safe to travel to Jordan. I have visited this country twice and each time I am struck by the warmth and passionate interest of people, the incredible culture and the amazing outdoor attractions.

Amman, Jordan is very safe
One of the questions I often encounter is: “Amman, Jordan, is it safe?” Absolutely. Amman has a friendly, warm environment filled with hospitality locals. The city is walkable and can be safely walked around (daytime) Or with a group due to low crime rates.
Jordan also has excellent security, which helps cities and countries feel safe.
Although if you are visiting SUQ, I recommend bringing a friend as it can be crowded. And, if you like to experience nightlife, always travel with friends.

Israel-Hamas war was indeed devastating. I lost my sleep, I cried, I prayed and I donated, but I still think these contributions have little positive impact on the war. No matter who you support, remember that this is not a political work. It’s all about safety.

Travel safely in Jordan with humility

Just like in any city, small thefts (i.e. bags, etc.) can happen, but the best way to avoid it is to fly under the radar. Look around to see what the locals are wearing and follow them ahead. Put valuables out of sight and skip the flashy designer gear. Instead, choose practical clothing and leave any safe and secure in your stay.
Wadi Rum is both magical and peaceful
Wadi Rum is a protected area in southern Jordan and is very safe for group and solo travel. This is one of the safest places you can travel in Jordan!
This otherworldly desert is filled with ruby-red sand valleys, sandstone and granite jagged peaks, and a Bedouin camp that provides travelers with a cultural experience under the stars. This is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Peter at night? Keep going – Super safe
One of the most magical ways to experience Petra is the wonder of the world, a visit at night. Called Petra at night, ready to start the candlelight adventure through SIQ to the Ministry of Finance under the moonlight sky.
Not only is this a bucket list experience, it’s totally safe! The road is well lit and this attraction attracts many visitors, so whether you are traveling alone or with a group, you will feel safe. Believe me. Your eyes will adjust immediately.

Protect your eyes! Don’t splash in the Dead Sea
Floating in the Dead Sea is a notorious activity you don’t want to miss, but don’t splash. Seriously. When it comes into contact with eyes, cuts, or waste, the water burns violently. It’s an unnatural feeling when you start floating in the sea, but you’ll get used to it.
Also, I highly recommend allowing 24 hours between shaving and floating in the Dead Sea. This will help alleviate any burning feeling in the ocean. And, don’t forget to slurry before floating!
Pay attention to the surrounding environment
Whether you are visiting Jordan or Singaporeit is always a good idea to understand the surrounding environment. This is especially important if you are traveling alone. If any situation has misleading you, leave immediately and find a highly trafficked area.
Handle gaze curiously
As a black female adventurer, I received a lot of gaze in Jordan. Why? Because some Jordanians have never seen black people or them like Black person.
Like I said before, Jordanians are very enthusiastic and neighbors. They will give you free hot tea as a welcome gesture or offer you shopping discounts as their kinship with black people.
As you stare, trust your gut. Is it a friendly look or a size? If this is a sign of curiosity, consider going back and smiling – your Joy may unlock more adventures. The photo above is a great example of this kind of power supply silent communication!
During the Jordanian creators weekend in Black Travel Union, we visited dar ne’meh – A company handmade through culinary and cultural, a company designed to bring economic stability and empowerment to Jordanian women. There was a language barrier but it didn’t stop us from having the best afternoon.
We had a bulge in our belly and designed a canvas bag. We learned – OK, Try it Study – Arab. Have mixed pickles, fattoush, Greek salad and fragrant yellow rice topped with almonds and chicken (for non-vegetarians). The connection has never felt so good.

All in all, it’s very safe to travel to Jordan. This is indeed one of the safest countries I have ever been to! It is good, friendly, a beautiful country with a variety of natural attractions. From the Dead Sea and the coastal towns along the Akaba to the bustling capital Amman, you will feel safe and sound anywhere you travel in the country.
I think this is the best time to visit Jordan because the tourism industry is currently low. This means that there are fewer crowds in world-renowned tourist attractions such as the Lost Petra city and budget-friendly prices.
