There are many Somali institutions in London. But most are small restaurants for locals and may not be a place to attract many other tourists. Then comes Sabiib, a beautiful yet cozy Somali restaurant in Acton that puts this underrated cuisine on the map to introduce its vibrant flavor to a wider audience.
Since its opening in 2023, Sabib has quickly become a staple in West London. Somali cuisine combines various African, Middle East and European influences with unique sweet and salty flavors that have attracted a lot of attention since its increasing popularity. It even attracted big names like Idris Elba, Mo Farah, Sadiq Khan, Chunkz and others to visit.

Plate 2 (£40)
Even if it says 2 people, this plate can definitely be about 3-4! The plate comes with Somali rice and pasta salda tower topped with haniid slow-cooked lamb shoulders, salad, and your beef sukal beef, beef steak or chicken steak. It also comes with Sabayaad, the Somali bread. We chose the beef Suqaar (cut into small pieces of beef, cooked with onion, garlic and chili), which was amazing. The meat is flavorful, gentle, tender and tender – I will be back altogether! On the other hand, the lamb has a very tender shoulder, but I recommend eating it with the chutney and seasoning provided with more spices and seasonings charm (Warning: Green sauce is very spicy). According to Somalia tradition, the meal also comes with bananas.

Shaa (Somali Spice Chai) (£3)
This is probably the best chiaki out there. Shaah tastes like spices like cinnamon, cardamom and nutmeg, like the warmest hug in a cup. It’s incredible – the flavor is very smooth and silky, just the right spice and sweetness to itch your taste buds. It was the ideal drink to finish this meal and I’ve longed for this chili every day since.

Passion fruit and lime mojito (£5.50)
For mojito enthusiasts, Sabibu offers a great option. Hubby tried Passionfruit & Lime Mojito and enjoyed a refreshing craze throughout the meal.
Sabiib Restaurant Review Summary
All in all, our meals at Sabiib restaurant are a wonderful delight, and you can taste love and passion in every bite. This is not a more perfect introduction to Somali cuisine, we love every part of it. The service was excellent throughout and the restaurant was very child friendly. We visited breakfast on Thursday and then there was no queue. But this will definitely be very busy in the future, so I recommend you make a reservation.
