Call all horse lovers!
Hey, city killer! If you are looking for a wild adventure off the beaten track, I encourage you to start your scooter to the White Stallion Ranch in Tucson, Arizona. Keep reading to discover my five favorite things for this one-of-a-kind Arizona Playboy Ranch, which is a great old-fashioned fun for the whole family.
My husband Mark lives with me Arizona and our nine-year-old daughterReagan. We were looking for a quick, fun, last minute weekend adventure and decided to do a white stallion after some brief study of Dude Ranch in Arizona. We love horses, fresh air and family-friendly adventures. This experience meets all these criteria. Also, we did a trip, visited the infamous olive factory in Queen Creek on the way, and grabbed some great fig balm, but I digressed!
I’m a little hesitant, just because the site includes a disclaimer that clearly states that it is not a “luxury” property or a “luxury”. However, I feel at ease with the hosts of awards that have accumulated over the years, including:
- The 12 Best All-Inclusive Resorts in the United States in 2019
- 2018 Best Family Resorts in the United States Rankings No. 1 Best Family Resorts in the United States in 2018
- Ranked 1st in Tucson’s TripAdvisor for 8 consecutive years
- TripAdvisor Traveler Choice Award 2018, 2019, 2020
We decided to do it, and I’m certainly glad we did it! It was a nice escape, very different from our usual trip. What do I love? Check out this Arizona Dude Ranch and see everything we love!
The feeling of summer camp
After entering the dirt road, I felt like I was going to enjoy it for a few days in summer camp. I like the nostalgic nature of the event registry in the lobby the next day. You can choose from a variety of activities such as shooting, cycling, rock climbing, hiking, archery, cattle sorting, pens, haystacks and electronic cycling (e-bikes). In addition to these activities, there is a stroking zoo, swimming pool, a hot tub and a small library room with pool table, books and games. There is a huge chess board and a saddle bar in the lobby for seating. I like the bars are “honor” style…you just take away what you want to drink and write down the paper. The prickly margarita is my favorite. Very convenient. The meal was buffet style and we loved live music for dinner.
stay
The property has 43 rooms and a large estate for booking. Accommodation is essentially a series of duplex Casitas. Each room has its own outdoor front patio with a gas fireplace on it. The room is fully equipped and in Western style. Remington’s replica is dear. I love boot remover in the room and ordered one on Amazon since then! This trip is definitely an excuse to break Luccheses.
horse riding
There are many different horse riding experiences to choose from. We chose a nice slow journey in the desert for an hour. Other rides include fast riding (sprint) or half-day riding. The horse is very kind. Each horse riding group has about 6-8 guests and guides. It took some time to make their horses and the proper group on each position (we waited about 40 minutes to call our name). Beyond this delay, the ride itself is absolutely delightful. Next time, we hope to be more adventurous and try a quick trip!
Archery
Archery class is my daughter’s favorite part of travel. Our teacher, Martin, was patient, clear and pleasant. Seven of us studied for an hour. The weather was so good that we all felt very accomplished after hitting the target a few times. The other families are from outside the state and I find this interesting. I’ve also been told that many families from Europe enjoy visiting year-round. My husband took a rifle shooting class while Reagan and I were learning archery.
Lonely
The White Stallion is a quiet, remote place where you can spend one-on-one time with your family while enjoying the tranquil sight of the desert landscape.
I have two regrets. The first is that I can’t bring home a horse (joking, but they’re cute). The second is that I can’t tip enough. The ranch hasn’t changed anything at the front desk, I’m not sure why.
Thank you for a great weekend, White Stallion! We look forward to returning again soon. As a side note, horses can be closed on Sundays, so make sure to plan your stay accordingly!
