You can whip this amazing grasshopper cocktail with several ingredients in a few minutes. It’s holidays and fun for spring and summer, and it’s always a pleasure.

The most important tip
My most important trick to make this drink is to shake until it’s cold, but don’t take too long to water it. And surely add whipped cream. You only live once!
Our Grasshopper cocktail recipe is delicious and very easy to make. You can attract your family party guests by whipping a batch of post-meal drinks or simply enjoying your own restaurant at the end of the day. When you’re looking for a fun and festive cocktail in the spring or summer, consider this refreshing buttercream recipe.
This colorful grasshopper recipe is made from Creme de Menthe and White Creme de cacao, which keeps me on my first drink. The whipped cream and grated chocolate give it a little more flavor to dessert, but there is definitely a kick! The speeches are really cute, but the holiday cocktails are not just for the holidays. You can enjoy this year.

About the history of this recipe, born in the United States. New Orleans French Quarter bar (called Tujag’s) claims that its original owner Philip Guichet first invented the classic cocktail in 1918. Whether he really was a first try, Grasshopper was also a beloved southern staple in the 50s and 60s.

What is needed to make a grasshopper cocktail
With just a few ingredients, you can drink this very prosperous drink in minutes. It’s a great treat to have a dessert after dinner or any time you want to satisfy your sweet tooth.

All this simple grasshopper recipe requires is:
- 1 oz Creme de Menthe
- 1 oz white chocolate wine or white cream de cacao
- 1 oz. Heavy cream
- ice
For optional decor you can add:
- Fresh mint
- Chocolate for grating (we recommend dark chocolate!)
- Chocolate sauce (the sweets there)
- Fresh cream
How to do it
First, you need to add ice and white chocolate liqueur to the cocktail shaker.

Next, pour in the same caramel element. Green tones and mint flavor are some trademarks of this after-meal drink!

Next, add heavy cream to give it a silky finish.

Shake enough to mix the ingredients well, then pour the drink into a martini glass or coupe glass (whichever you have)!
Serve with whipped cream and dark chocolate shavings and add mint sprigs as the final touch. Mint leaves really help bring out the vibrant green of the drink.

Between its unique sweetness and colorful expression, the recipe has a permanent location in bars and homes in the southern United States.

Tips and changes
As mentioned at the beginning, shaking this cocktail is one of the most important steps in this recipe. To make sure your grasshopper remains creamy and does not water, be careful not to shake for too long.
If you like this drink but want a low-calorie option, you can easily replace the heavy cream with whole or skim milk in this recipe (although we recommend at least the whole cream, so your grasshopper stays nice and creamy).
You can also try coconut milk, but not the variety canned milk. Pick up a bottle of coconut milk in the refrigerated section of your grocery store.
While we haven’t added it to our water, you can also drizzle chocolate syrup on the whipped cream to make it rot. Did you know that changing the ingredients in grasshopper can actually change the name?
- For the “flying” grasshopper, use vodka instead of cream.
- Make a “frozen” grasshopper float with mint or vanilla ice cream.
