Wind of Change: Windstar’s podcast series offers insider access to boats and travel

Are you wondering how Windstar plans its itinerary, select wines for its on-board wine list and develop a coastal excursion at the Call Port? Welcome to Windstar’s New Change Podcast, which just launched in January 2025, is all about how insiders can access how it develops.

For its chief business officer, Janet Bava, the wind of change is a long-term dream. “This is something I want to start doing on the first day of Windstar,” she said. “The key is that it should be educational, insightful, and occasionally surprises and joyful moments, and for me, it’s a reflection of Windstar itself: a casual, entertaining, entertaining cruising line for guests who are traveling well.

“It’s a conversation between people who belong to Windstar, from our staff to our guests, and hopefully we will reveal new insights, details, suggestions and tips.”

She added that the podcast “will showcase people at Windstar, including crew, staff and guests,” she said. “It will tell the story behind our 40-year history. It will find more depth where our ships go – from French Polynesia in the yacht to small Greek islands in the sails.”

Episode 3: Friends we make along the way (and a magical mysterious tour)

What does a relatively new celebrity influencer have in common with a couple who have held 500 nights on board? They’re both on the Windstar boat A magical mysterious tour last year. You may remember this was a traditional Tahitian “social archipelago” voyage, and suddenly, due to the proximity of the cyclone, Marquesas was first visited by Windstar, one of the most remote islands in the world.

First, Janet chats with Tara Zimmerman, whose @fabulelyadrift Instagram account chronicles traveling on land and sea. The first taste she experienced with the boat last winter was a Mediterranean “local” cruise, her first taste, and she returned with the taste she thought would be the first time Tahiti. “Adventure is a way to illustrate it,” she told Janet. “It’s a lifelong journey, not a kind of.”

Favorite row: Janet details the trip was so unexpectedly unusual. After the first call on the ship, an atoll called Fakarava, “The captain approached us and said ‘There is a whirlwind coming and we will have to make some decisions.” Choice? Stayed in Bora Bora for three to four days until the storm came, or we could head to another remote destination, which is completely not 900 miles away. Marquise. ”

Another favorite line: Janet told us: “The topic you are hearing is “Professionals are leading this company.”

In conversations with Anne Arnold and Jerry Baker, the experienced style traveler also happens to be on the boatThe mysterious voyage“Anne said: “The trip to Marxas was also discussed. On this voyage, the highlights the couple never experienced “don’t know what we’re going to bring the next day,” Anne said. “Knowing that Winstall is doing such a great job to plan all the plans for us in the horse quesas. It’s incredible.”

Anne and Jerry dine in Amphora with Windstar President Chris Prelog, and one night the topic turned to not knowing how interesting it is to expect from your itinerary. Chris suggests that Vonstall might actually plan a mysterious parade – so Winster creates the first ever The mysterious tour of the president in 2025. The 8-night round trip from Athens will depart on April 19, 2025 – except that capital, guests will only learn where they were going the night before. Anne and Jerry were the first to sign for this.

Episode 2: Shaping the Past, Present and Future of Windstar

In this wind of change, Janet is guest of the guest of Windstar’s chief business officer Stijn Creupelandt. Stijn began his parade career, working as a waiter in the pride of his camp at the time, and then moved to the in-car hospitality level. Subsequent positions include receptionist and chief pursuer. He joined Windstar in 2021 as Vice President of Hospitality Business and was promoted to Chief Business Officer in 2023. In this position, Stijn remains responsible for the responsibilities associated with the hotel (all customers such as food and beverage, entertainment, entertainment, housekeeping, shore, brief exploration and management). He also added navigation and engineering aspects to oversee Windstar’s shipbuilding and renovation plans.

In this podcast, Janet and Stijn cover topics like cultural and culinary immersion, the new Basil + Bamboo restaurant that just debuted on Star Breeze, and why the Horizon suite of star Seeker’s Horizon is a bookable suite.

Episode 1: The People Behind Windstar

Janet hosted Dianna Rom, vice president of sales, who worked at Xanterra for more than 25 years, recalling the day when Xanterra Travel Collection acquired Windstar in 2011.

Favorite line: “Since then, a lot has changed. At the time Xanterra was about managing parks and park systems, and today…it’s about where we can make a mark in the world.”

Q&A: What is the best itinerary for a new arrival star traveler? “A very good starter is Italy and the Dalmatia coast,” Rom said, especially suggesting travelers to start in Venice because its sailing boats are so magical. “There are few lines that drive inward into Venice these days [due to new restrictions that require ships longer than 180 meters to dock outside of the city]. Stand out the sail, you are listening to “1492: Conquer Heaven”, well, if you don’t feel like a pirate, it’s never. ”

“Not only do I love style podcasts, but my 11-year-old grandson put his morning cartoons on hold with me to listen! And then actively questioned which boats we have been to and around the world we have been to.” – @ @susanwauer7182

Next is Andreas Pitsch, the hotel’s general manager, who is calling out from the wind surfing. Pitsch oversees 80% of ship operations, including cooking, housekeeping, spa, catering and supply.

Favorite line: “The biggest risk is not to take risks,” he said, reflecting on his decision to join Windstar. “I called my wife and I said, ‘If I knew how wonderful the atmosphere was on a small boat, I would have changed 20 years ago.”

Q&A:What is your favorite itinerary? “I get this question often and I always give the same answer. My favorite itinerary is in the Mediterranean, Spain, Monaco, Italy and Greece.” He also likes the weather and cooking scenes. In fact, Pitsch loved the area very much, and he lived in Costa del Sol, Spain.
