The cobbled streets of Nelson Shipyard are one of the best preserved historical sites in the Caribbean. Looks like countless beaches, pristine white sand and stunning turquoise water extensions. World-famous sailing races and giant racing cars are parked in its harbor. Antigua itself is an atmosphere, a Caribbean island that has been one of the most popular destinations in the region in recent years.
Now, a new route from Frontier Airlines is opening up Antigua to cities throughout the United States. So how does it work?
Frontier has launched a new route between San Juan, Puerto Rico and Antigua. It runs once a week and serves Saturday. However, it is important to note that the border flies from 10 different cities in the United States to markets such as San Juan-Atlanta, Boston, Cleveland, Miami and Newark.
This means you can now fly from any of these cities to San Juan, get on the road, and head to Antigua, a huge boost for the island and travelers eager to go there. Just make sure you have the right flight time; once on Saturday, you need to line up your initial flights – so sometimes you may need to spend the night in San Juan.

This is a good thing because a night in San Juan can be one of the most fun experiences in the area, from vibrant nightlife to food scenes.
Tourism Minister Charles Fernandez said in a statement to Caribbean Magazine that it was an “affordable and convenient” option for travelers to Antigua.
What about the price?
According to Frontier’s website, a sample itinerary between Fort Lauderdale and Fort Antigua (stopped in the middle of San Juan) will give you about $314.09.
