Malaysia rup Cay is a private island owned by Norwegian cruise routes, located in the Bahamas. The island is unique to cruisers traveling on NCL boats in the Caribbean, and it offers a lot of work, from kayaking to snorkeling, zipper lining, to a drink on the beach.
Here is everything you can do and what to do if you plan to cruise on the Malaysian rup Cay itinerary in the near future.
What do you know about the great horse rup cay
I do think that visiting cruise exclusive destinations is just something special when exploring new cruise ports.
All activities are coordinated by the cruise liner, so there is no risk with third-party tour providers. Everything is designed so you can have as much fun as possible. In some cases, you can even enjoy recent events without paying extra.
As for Rup Cay, this 268-acre site is located in the Berry Islands Bahamas It was purchased by Norwegian Cruise Company in the 1970s. Initially, the island was a pirate hiding, and was a U.S. military post at the time, and even had a historic beacon on the island, dating back to the 1860s.

when Norwegian cruise The island was eventually developed, and it was the first time the cruise line took an island and used it specifically for guests.
Over the years, Norwegian Cruise Line has carried out various renovations and enhancements to the island, such as a $1 million upgrade in the 1990s and further additions in the 2010s.
Recently, the cruise line said it will build a new dock on the island, which will help offset the need for tenders when arriving at the island.
As of early 2025, Two terminals are expected to be opened by the end of 2025which will double the number of guests on the island at a time starting in 2026. This could mean up to 700,000 cruisers visit the island every year.
beach

The private island has three main beaches that allow you to access clear waters: Infinite Beach, Lighthouse Beach and Lodge Beach.
Both Infinity Beach and Lighthouse Beach offer convenient locations close to other amenities such as bars, restaurants, historic lighthouses and zipper linings. The latter can accommodate hundreds of cruisers, so it can become a little crowded.
Meanwhile, the Cabin Beach, though on the small side, still offers a food truck and then offers a rental cabin.
There are two types of cabins you can rent: premium and classic cabins. The quality cabin is larger and suits up to eight people and comes with furniture such as sofas and water toys, such as floating pads and bottled water. The classic cabin is slightly smaller and is suitable for six people, but the facilities are similar.
The premium cabin rental price is $714 for all-day rentals. Classic cabin rentals are priced at $659 and are available for rent all day.
Apart from the cabin, you can rent clam shells, which is exactly what they sound like: Clamshell shell coverings sitting on the beach and provide shade without being clumsy beach umbrellas. Clamshell rentals for full-day rentals start at $50.
Dining and bar

You can dine as much as you can on the Malaysian Rup Reef as all dining is included in your cruising fare. Also, if you have a drink packaging on your cruise, you can also use it on the Great Stirrup Cay.
If you do not have a drink package, your beverage purchase will be charged your account through your cruise card. )
Food choices include tacos for a handful of taco choices, as well as Jumbey Beach Grill, a buffet with grilled entrees and side dishes. There is also a food truck on the beach of the cabin with sandwiches.
While the Cruiser’s reviews about your own taco options in the past aren’t that good, many say the buffet grill is super delicious.
That said, your overall dining options are somewhat limited, so if you have special dietary requirements or are particularly picky, you may want to eat before leaving the boat or after returning to the boat.
As for the bar, there are four to choose from, scattered in island: Customer Bar, Subscription Bar, Bacardi Bar and Lighthouse Beach Bar.
Activity

You will find a range of activities on Malaysian rup Cay. However, before you start planning a day, remember that some are free and you can show up ahead of time and enjoy them, while others are extra costs and must be booked like any offshore trip at any port.
There is a snorkeling center on the island where you can rent equipment for snorkeling excursions. Snorkeling equipment for children is about $15 and adults are $30.
Once you have rented your equipment, you can enjoy going to snorkeling attractions such as the Underwater Sculpture Garden where you can view coral reefs and swim among marine life, such as stingrays and starfish.

If you want the tour to get you above the water, you can sign up for the Waverunner Tour ($175). Other excursions include kayaking ($59) and stand-up paddle boarding (from $43) trips, or guided tours to nearby islands where you can swim pigs ($175).
There are multiple zipper lines on the island (including Seahawk’s zipper lines and Osprey beam lines) as well as rope courses. To ride a zipper line, you must be at least eight years of age and weigh less than 250 pounds.
Depending on the zipper cable you choose, you can soar in the open air nearly 3,000 feet! There is also a zipper line hanging from the copy lighthouse. The experience for one-hour zipper and rope course starts at $87.
For some retail therapy, head to the island’s market where you can buy souvenirs and some essentials if you forget about beachwear. There are also many Bahamian crafts and local products.
If you want to shop a little, bring some cash (the dollar is good) as locals who sell on the market will not accept credit cards.
Silver Bay

Just like many cruise ships now have special VIP areas, only guest in suites are accepted, usually with private restaurants, sun decks and more, so the island’s excellent Stirrup Cay has a similar VIP area on the island: Silver Cove.
Silver Bay is only open to those who rent private villas on the island. In addition to accommodating the villa, this part of the island features several beautiful outdoor attractions, sunbathing or lounge, an infinity pool, a spa, two private beaches (Silver Cove Lagoon and Villa Beach) and a separate one the bar.
Please note that you do not have to book a Silver Bay Villa in order to use the spa. You can book a spa appointment without booking a villa, but this is the only part of Silver Bay that you can use without the villa rental.

That doesn’t mean you still can’t have a great day at Silver Cove Spa, though. After treatment, check out the spa’s hot tub’s amazing view of the ocean.
As for the villa itself, you have a few different options here. The biggest option is a two-bedroom family villa with a capacity of up to 16 cruisers.
In addition to the two bedrooms, there are two bathrooms, living and dining spaces, large outdoor living spaces, free on-demand movies on the villa TV and Ineyama dining service.
The smallest villa option is the beach villa, which can accommodate only six cruisers. Although there are no bedrooms in the villa (but why only one day on the island?), there is also a living and dining space, and a full private bathroom.
Villa Rentals cost range is around $650.
However, good news – even if you are not in yours Norwegian cruise shipyou can still access Silver Cove. Just because you are not what you call a VIP on the ship doesn’t mean you can’t be a VIP on land.
Tips for visiting Malaysian rup Cay

There are a few things you need to remember when visiting Rup Cay in Malaysia for the best experience, and I can tell you:
First, remember that you will need to bid on a private island until the two new docks are over. This means you need to get to the young boat, wait in line, and then head to the island in a small young boat. Then you need to go back to the boat on the tender boat, which can also include waiting.
To avoid long wait times for tender boats, you will want to leave both so that you can arrive on the island early in the morning (or the extra extra at night) before the ship leaves time.
If you are planning to spend most of your time on the beach, you also need to get off the boat as early as possible to grab a good place on the beach.
I know, I know – getting up early is the last thing you have to do when you are on a cruise. But when I say it’s worth getting that major beach real estate, trust me.
Then, if you want to go to a great horse rup Cay, you need to make sure you book your cruise on one of the boats and itineraries.

Currently, the ships heading to Rup Cay in Malaysia include Norwegian Iron, Norwegian Encore, Norwegian Episode, Norwegian Escape, Norwegian Gem, Norwegian Jade, Norwegian Jede, Norwegian Jewelry, Norwegian Jewelry, Norwegian Pearl, Norwegian Pearl, Norwegian, Norwegian Sky, Norwegian Sun, Norwegian Sun and Norway Viva.
If you decide to enjoy any paid tours or activities on the island, make sure to stop at the tour table on the cruise ship before arrival to book these activities.
When I enter the port, I like to bring a small backpack or tote bag with anything that needs to be used, such as sunscreen, water bottle, swimming shoes, etc.
This is still a good idea when you go to the great horse rup reef – but you also need to remember that unlike some postal private islands, there are no lockers here.

This means that if you are on a trip and want to put your bag or some valuables down while zipper lining or diving, you are in a bad luck.
Finally, there is no WiFi on Great Strirup Cay, so don’t expect to be able to upload all your selfies to your favorite social media platform right away.
You need an international data plan to get the service, or you just need to wait until you get back on board (if you have one of the WiFi packages on board) to access any online content.
