Summer is only a week away! This can only mean one thing here: It’s time to start planning #Spotlax2023. As previously announced, #Spotlax2023 will be held from September 8 to 10, 2023. This year marks the 10th anniversary of Spotlax! Our team is happy to celebrate with you. The event will be a fun-filled weekend with huge planes, beautiful views, great people and some special anniversary surprises!
The sixth time we will be with Brett Snyder’s “A foolish fool“. The event will be held on Saturday morning, September 9 at the world-renowned park opposite Sepulveda Blvd In-N-Out Burger.
Who participates in Spotlax? Anyone who likes to spend time watching the plane with a bunch of like-minded people. While many of us bring many camera devices, this is by no means necessary. A considerable number of attendees would only bring their phones, but they were all happy to watch the time of arrival.
Many people attend this event year after year, although we see many first-time participants every year. Everything is welcome! Some attendees will extend the weekend, including days before and/or after the official event date. There are no shortage of large strategic or other aviation-themed activities in Southern California.
Although we expect no major changes to the activities are required due to careers, it is still possible if there is a significant increase in the situation. We will follow any applicable CDC and Local health department Recommendations, requirements and guidelines until and include cancellation events. We encourage all participants to make their own decisions about masks and social distancing and ask everyone to respect their peers’ choices. Again, our base will be the fabulous H Hotel in Los Angeles, Now, a new room is open! This hotel is one of the closest hotels to the Los Angeles International Terminal, with stunning views from its rooftop observation deck. H Overlook offers some of the best views to the airport, and rooftop access is limited to hotel guests. Our room neighborhood includes Friday and Saturday nights, as well as limited rooms on Thursday nights. Space allows, the hotel will offer our event price (Deluxe King $209/night, $229 per night, and Deluxe 2 Queens $229) to extend your stay before or after the block.
