What does a perfect day at CocoCay include?
Free Activities at CocoCay | Cold Island
The first thing we did after disembarking was head to the beach. Coco Island has a variety of beaches for you to enjoy on the island.
Chill Island Coco Cay is located on the east side of the island. You can discover gorgeous marine life and some of the best snorkeling spots on the island. Bring your own snorkeling gear and it’s completely free.
Dive into the water to find a sunken plane or ship, or watch beautiful fish swim by. Lagoon Beach is located in the center of the island and is a great place to take a dip after lunch.
South Beach CocoCay More secluded and quieter than other places. This is a great place to read a book or relax.
The beauty of visiting a private island is that it’s never crowded. No matter which beach you choose, there’s no need to compete for beach chairs and plenty of space to enjoy the water.
Our cruise was the only one in port the day we visited, so we basically had the entire island to ourselves. We grabbed three beach chairs with no trouble and there was no reason to get off the boat early in the morning to fight for a spot.
this Free beach chairs at Coco Cay There are many options available and all are comfortable and shaded by parasols. There is no reason to pay extra unless you want to spend money for an upscale experience.
Free Activities at CocoCay | CocoCay Oasis Lagoon Pool
While we loved the beach for a few hours, it was time for a change of scenery and less sand, so we headed to the Oasis Lagoon Pool.
this CocoCay Oasis Lagoon Pool The largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean, what a great time. Again, there are plenty of free beach chairs and great upbeat music.
The pool also has underwater speakers so you can enjoy music even while swimming. We all enjoyed spending time in the pool, which was much less stressful than being on the beach with kids in open water and sea life. Both were very enjoyable.
This is another place on the island where we didn’t have to pay a dime extra.
What food is available at CocoCay?
One of the best things about cruising is the all-inclusive variety of delicious food. Coco Island is no exception.
Since CocoCay is Royal Caribbean’s private island, there are several places to get free food and snacks. Chilly BBQ and Captain’s BBQ CocoCay It is the main dining area on the island.
For your convenience, they are located on both sides of the island and offer the same services. You can enjoy buffet-style dishes at both locations, and they’re both delicious. You’ll find a variety of BBQ chicken, burgers, fries, hot dogs, salads, as well as build-your-own tacos, burritos and more.
There are also a variety of fresh island fruits, sumptuous desserts and three flavors of self-service ice cream. If you avoid purchasing a drink package, the island does have free water and juice for you to enjoy for free.
If you’re looking for a snack during your trip, there are two free snack bars. The menu here is much smaller but still offers a variety of favorites such as burgers, fries, salads, funnel cakes and other desserts.
Free Activities in CocoCay with Kids | CocoCay Splash Away Bay
if you want to travel Coco Island and children Or kids, you’ll be happy to know that the island has many areas specifically designated for the little ones. this Cocoa Island Splash Away Bay is my kid’s favorite because it offers tons of water activities like sprinklers, slides, buckets and mini pools to keep him busy all day long. While there are plenty of places for parents to sit and watch their little ones play, my husband and I love jumping in and splashing around with him.
Another free activity for kids is Captain Gill’s Sailboat. This free children’s play area is located near the arrivals square. You can’t miss this giant ship. There’s a small play area for the kids inside, complete with slides and a climbing area, but they can also splash around outside and shoot water cannons.
Free Events at CocoCay | Live Music at Captain Jack’s Pub
There’s live music all over the island, but if you need a cool, shaded beach break, head to Captain Jack’s Bar.
The bar is an open air concept with a spacious seating area and never crowded. Our favorite is the swing chair. We sat there and listened to live music for almost an hour, and a few people even tried karaoke. It’s great entertainment.
Drinks and food are not free in the area, but you can grab a bite to eat at a snack bar before heading to Captain Jack’s, which will make it free.
Free at Coco Island | Other free facilities
The island also offers a host of other free facilities for guest convenience and activities for your enjoyment. In addition to plenty of beach chairs, you’ll also find plenty of hammocks for swinging and relaxing on the island.
First come first served, but there are plenty and most were empty while we were on the island. Take a break and enjoy the beach views.
