The 6 Best Hotels in Nashville (Updated 2024)

Known for its rich musical heritage and Southern charm, Nashville is one of my favorite American cities Whether you’re a country music fan or a foodie looking to sample mouth-watering barbecue, this city has something for everyone.

As a popular weekend destination (Also a bachelor/bachelorette hotspot) There are plenty of hotels to choose from. I’ve visited the city several times over the years and stayed in some really cool and unique hotels. I’ve also stayed in some places that weren’t worth your time (or money).

Here is a list of my favorite Nashville hotels so you can plan your trip, have fun, and enjoy your time in Music City:

1. Russell Hotel

The Russell boutique hotel in Nashville, Tennessee is a former church with 360-degree views from the spacious lobby and huge stained glass windowsThe Russell boutique hotel in Nashville, Tennessee is a former church with 360-degree views from the spacious lobby and huge stained glass windows
This boutique hotel is housed in an early 20th century all-brick church. I love that they retained many of the original features, such as the stained glass windows, brick walls, and original benches (repurposed as headboards in the room). In keeping with the building’s history of supporting the East Nashville community, they are donating a portion of the hotel’s proceeds to nonprofits that help those experiencing homelessness. This means, for example, that a weekend at The Russell could provide 16 nights of shelter to someone in need.

The Russell is a colorful hotel with a bright lobby, high ceilings, eclectic furniture and free tea and coffee. Each of the 23 guest rooms features different décor, such as local artwork, and was designed by one of Nashville’s most renowned designers. All rooms come with typical hotel amenities like flat-screen TVs, free toiletries, mini-fridges, Keurig coffee makers, desks, and even some unique perks like noise machines and complimentary baskets of local snacks. The bathroom has colorful tiles and a mirror in the shape of a church window (a nice design touch).

This is a unique place to stay in East Nashville, a cool area of the city filled with unpretentious (and awesome) restaurants, cutting-edge art galleries, and craft cocktail bars. If you are taking a road tripthere is also a free parking space across the street.

2. Placemakr SoBro

Light-filled living room and kitchen in suite at Placemakr SoBro, an aparthotel in Nashville, TennesseeLight-filled living room and kitchen in suite at Placemakr SoBro, an aparthotel in Nashville, Tennessee
If you plan to be in town for a while or would like to use a kitchen, this hotel offers fully furnished studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments. They all have a chic industrial design, with exposed pipes, high ceilings and colorful artwork on the walls. Huge windows let in lots of light and give you great views of the city. For even better views, there’s a rooftop pool and lounge area for hanging out. I love that it’s also close to many of the city’s major attractions (like the Johnny Cash Museum and Ryman Auditorium).

All units feature a dedicated work area (ideal if you need to work on the road), washer/dryer, 55-inch Apple TV with streaming capabilities, and a full-size kitchen with dishwasher, stove, sink, microwave, and There is a fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, coffee machine and stovetop kettle. Some units even have private balconies. While breakfast is not available on site, the 24/7 Sun Diner is just a few blocks away. Retro, kitschy and fun, it pays homage to legendary Sun Records artists like Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash while delivering some of the South’s most beloved music. I always eat here when I visit.

3. Hotel 1 Nashville

This is the hotel I choose when I want a luxurious stay. This is a five-star hotel with over 56,000 plants covering its exterior and I love their focus on sustainability throughout. The hotel restaurant serves sustainably sourced farm-to-table cuisine from breakfast to dinner, and you can even reserve an electric Audi hotel car if you’re heading out for a day trip. As an avid fitness enthusiast, I also really enjoyed the 24/7 fitness center (they also offer free group fitness classes to hotel guests). If you’re looking for a more relaxing experience, there’s also a full-service health spa.

The spacious rooms feature wood-panelled walls and floor-to-ceiling windows that let in plenty of light. The pillowtop bed is comfy with sustainably sourced bedding, and in-room amenities include a 55-inch flat-screen TV, minibar, safe, Nespresso coffee machine, and even a yoga mat. I really liked that each tap has a filter so you can avoid single use plastic bottles by filling your own bottles or using the upcycled wine bottles provided. Although the bathroom was a bit small, I loved the rain shower and the comfortable bathrobe and slippers. There are also free eco-friendly toiletries. If you have a bigger budget, this would be a really relaxing place to stay.

This aparthotel offers comfortable suites and apartments just blocks from Honky Tonk Highway and all the city’s museums. I think this is the best value in the area. While this is a modern hotel with no on-site staff (you check in online and get a code), I loved that it has a cocktail bar and retro cafe (serving breakfast sandwiches and smoothies), so it’s still bustling. There is also a huge outdoor area complete with lounge chairs, fire pit, and corn hole. As a solo traveler, I always appreciate hotels creating these communal spaces to allow travelers to connect with each other.

The rooms have a warm and modern style and very comfortable beds. All rooms have basic facilities including a flat-screen TV and tea/coffee making facilities, while apartments have a kitchenette with a dishwasher, refrigerator and microwave. Some of the larger apartments even have fun features like a football table. It’s perfect for travelers on a budget who want a central location.

If you love Dolly Parton, you have to stay here. This four-star boutique hotel is completely Dolly-themed, with lots of bright colors, retro themes and vibrant Dolly-inspired art and memorabilia. I love the cheesiness of it all. There are three restaurants on site: a lobby café that serves grab-and-go breakfasts, a very Instagrammable rooftop cocktail bar with panoramic city views, and even a karaoke bar with an animatronic backing band on the weekends bar. There’s also a rooftop pool, although that’s an extra cost (and it’s small and requires reservations, so I’d skip it).

The room is spacious and designed with country charm, with striped walls, brightly patterned rugs and portraits of country music stars on the headboards. All rooms feature velvet lounge chairs, large writing desks, electric kettles with tea/coffee and flat-screen TVs. The black and white tiled bathroom provides a dark and moody contrast, with a pedestal sink and complimentary toiletries. While the carnival-like atmosphere may not be for everyone (there are a lot of bachelor parties and influencers taking photos, especially on the weekends), if you want something super unique, this is the place!

Compared to the noisy Dolly Hotel, this stylish three-star hotel is a good choice for travelers who want a quiet, affordable place to stay. I loved that there was a cafe in the lobby that served food all day long: diner-style breakfast in the morning and drinks and bar snacks in the evening. It was nice to come back from exploring and have something to eat. There’s also a cool cocktail bar on the rooftop that also hosts DJ nights.

They offer a wide variety of rooms, including standard hotel rooms, rooms with bunk beds, and suites with kitchenettes if you’re traveling with a group. All rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows, writing desks and local artwork on the walls. I liked that the minibar was also stocked with local snacks. The tiled bathroom is quite spacious, with a walk-in shower and high-quality toiletries. This is a great choice for travelers looking for simplicity, style, and affordability in East Nashville.
