Booking a trip to any major New York airport through a ride-sharing app can be expensive, with fares sometimes well over $100.

But starting Tuesday, Uber is offering another option: It can take you to and from LaGuardia Airport for $18 one way.

“Uber Shuttle” rides can be booked up to 7 days or 5 minutes before the shuttle departure. However, these rides are shared – vehicles can accommodate up to 14 passengers. Each passenger is allowed one personal item and one carry-on or checked baggage.

The shuttle runs every 30 minutes from 5am to 10:45pm, 7 days a week. So far, sites are limited to downtown Manhattan and include:

  • Port Authority Terminal
  • central station
  • penn station

Uber shuttles will take passengers to LaGuardia Terminals B and C.

While LaGuardia Airport offers shuttle service to the airport, these shuttles often take longer than a car, and many travelers are unfamiliar with this option.

Uber announced the move on Tuesday during a climate event in London. It did not say if or when similar service would launch at Newark or JFK airports.

Ridesharing apps also offer shuttle services available Egypt, India, Brazil and Mexico.

Shuttles to LaGuardia Airport can be booked through the Uber app. When the shuttle arrives, passengers will receive a QR code ticket and a unique password verified by the driver.
