6 Best Hotels in Copenhagen (Updated 2025)

Colorful buildings in central Copenhagen, Denmark in summer

A compact capital, more bikes than cars, Copenhagen It is a lively modern city, perfect for weekend getaways.

Copenhagen is also considered one of the happiest cities in the world, with plenty of green space, cool museums and a craziest nightlife. Famous for its cycling streets, not only are there more bikes than here, but there are actually more bikes than people!

I’ve been visiting the city for over 16 years and it’s always exploded. The quality of life here is actually unparalleled. Although the city is expensive, it is definitely accessible without going bankrupt.

To help you plan your trip, here is my list of the best hotels in Copenhagen:

1. Hotel Bethel

A large bed in a spacious hotel room in Copenhagen, DenmarkA large bed in a spacious hotel room in Copenhagen, Denmark
This 3-star hotel is located on the canal in the heart of Indre, the most beautiful area in town. The property consists of three historic buildings and features spacious rooms that are both clean and comfortable. Decoration is modern, although somewhat outdated and often simple (don’t expect too much art or color). Carpeted rooms include a flat-screen TV, a desk, a wardrobe and free Wi-Fi. There was no coffee/tea dealer in the room but I thanked the lounge for free coffee and tea 24/7. Breakfast, although not included, is being filled and there are many kinds, although it is mainly cold foods such as pastries, cold cuts and cereals. The bathrooms are a little small, but they are clean and the shower has a lot of water pressure.

Although there is no gym or other facilities on site, the hotel has a larger room and is perfect for families or groups. And you really can’t beat the position. This is an affordable central, no liquid option.

2. Otilia Hotel

Part of the former Carlsberg Brewery in Otilia is a four-star property that has won several architectural awards for its transformation into a hotel. Located in Vesterbro, an area known for its excellent restaurants and third wave coffee shops, the standard rooms here are stylish but rarely, emphasizing bright light and dark tones. Rooms come with Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV with Netflix, coffee/tea markings and comfortable chairs. They also have smaller rooms if you have a budget and solo. The bathroom has chic dark tiles, including free toiletries. I love that the bathroom floor is heated so you stay warm and warm even in winter. The shower pressure is also high, although it is only realised that some rooms have an open bathroom design, so privacy is limited.

The breakfast was full and I especially liked that it was 100% organic. It is already available on the top floor so you can enjoy the view while enjoying the fresh spread. Another nice feeling is the daily happy hours and free wine.

Located in the stylish Vesterbro, the rooms here are compact and functional, with a cozy Danish-style design with taupe and sage green walls, as well as hardwood or parquet floors. Simple room with flat-screen TV, small desk, clothes rack and free Wi-Fi. The bathroom is also small, but the shower pressure is good. A delicious organic breakfast is also available every morning, served with fresh bread, fruit and pastries.

There is also a chic lobby bar and a rooftop terrace to hang out with a bar and sauna (although you have to book and pay to use it). The hotel has been completely renovated in 2024, clean and comfortable and perfect for travelers on a budget.

4. Boutique Hotel Herman K

This 4-star hotel in NYHAVN is located in a historic transformer station, so the whole place has a chic industrial style. The hall is particularly eye-catching. It has two more than two stories and features huge 3D printed sculptures. I love that there is a cool cocktail bar.

The large room has minimal decor and comes with large windows for a lot of natural light. Rooms include soft beds, air conditioning, boson sound system, flat-screen TV, comfortable armchairs, minibar, kettle and free Wi-Fi. The marble bathroom is bright and spacious with free eco-friendly toiletries and excellent water pressure. There are many options for breakfast every morning (including vegetable choices) that can be ordered as a buffet, arranged or mainland. There is no gym or spa, but in its central location you can walk to almost all the major attractions here. This is a fashionable, central choice.

The decor is minimalist, but the room features bright carpets that really make space popular. Amenities include a flat-screen TV, work desk, miniature, coffee/tea merchant and free Wi-Fi. The bathrooms are a bit dated, but they have water pressure and free toiletries.

There is a fresh Danish breakfast every morning and you can choose what you want to eat in advance (you will order in advance). I especially like that when you check in you will get a bottle of water and beer. There is even a small roof terrace where you can hang out and enjoy the city views.
